If you are looking for a farmhouse/apron front sink you already expect to either pay a premium for install or put in a little thought to prepare the sink base yourself. We just installed this sink and expect it to wear like any other stainless sink. We replaced a very nice cast iron sink with this as we didn't want another white cast iron sink as ours was prone to showing every wear mark from the other "K" brand. Overall, the sink was pretty easy to install. I installed the sink in a 36 inch base cabinet. This is contrary to what most of what you find on the internet. The internet claims you need to install this type of sink in a base at least 3 inches larger than the sink. After preparing the base there is a minor reveal of about 1/16" on either side of the base. Basically, the face of the cabinet is cut to match the height of the sink and the sides are notched to match the profile. I also cut the top of the base where the sink rests, so when the sink is installed the rear of the base is a little proud of the sink. This way the countertop does not put weight onto the perimeter of the sink. The sink is siliconed in place. When the countertops are installed the space between the countertop and the sink will have silicone as well. The drain that came with the sink was mostly plastic, so I opted for a complete stainless steel drain I purchased from a third party. Overall, my wife and I are very happy with this sink. We joke with our kids that if we had this when they were babies we could easily have bathed them in this huge 36" sink. We can't wait for our countertops and backsplash to be in place to finish off this remodel.
We were looking for a sink for our home renovation and found this on Wayfair. I like the features and accessories that came with this package, they were exactly what I had in mind. Everything was well packaged and protected for shipping. This sink is solid, nice thick stainless steel. It has excellent sound deadening, no cheap tinny sound here. It is a nice deep sink as well for those larger items, 10" in the deep end of the pool by the drain. The grate is of high quality as is the bamboo cutting board and silicone drying rack. We really like that there is an integrated ledge for the rack and cutting board sit on. After receiving this sink, we had to return a faucet from a competitor and based on the quality and subsequent value of the KORE Workstation, we purchased the Oren faucet in Satin Black. As it turned out, this ended up being a great package from Kraus. Value is a sliding scale, based on the quality of the product and the pricing, this is a great value.
What can I say? Can a person be in love with a sink? The Kore Workstation is by far the showpiece of my renovated kitchen. It is stylish, functional, beautiful and tough. The plumber and the granite guy both commented "wow, that's an amazing sink!" Friends love the kitchen but always wind up standing at the sink with comments like, "Holy cow!" "This is gorgeous!" "How much is this and where did you buy it?" When I break out the cutting board and silicone rack, they lose their minds. For day to day use, I love it because I don't have to worry about the edges of the sink; with the low-profile drop in lip, the edges of my granite are protected. I can toss utensils and bowls with no worries. Another plus is that I can extend the silicone drying rack and insert the cutting board (thereby covering the sink) and add 33" to my countertops for parties and such. I also chose the Kraus faucet which pairs perfectly. The finger-tip touch to turn it on and off is a delight and the tall pull-down sprayer gives the function of a commercial kitchen in a sleek look. The sink and faucet make me feel like I am in a gourmet kitchen. And for the naysayers who lament about "rust spots" or "blemishes"...I have only had one or two tiny ones and a soft cloth and Ceramabryte (the glass cooktop cleaner) took care of them with no problem and there's been no recurrence. I did learn it is important to use the bottom rack to allow the bottom of the sink to drain and dry...since I did this, no more spots. And the warranties from Kraus can't be beat. I could not recommend this sink and faucet more highly. I hope Kraus comes out with the colander basket soon as this would make this sink the best complete workstation on the market today. I shopped Ticor and others and I'm so glad I went with Kraus. Buy it now and start loving your kitchen again.
Our house is just shy of 1,000 sq ft. Making every inch counts and when my husband and I decided to redo the kitchen we did a lot of research on kitchen sinks because it is one of the most frequently used areas of our house. Several features appealed to us in this one ... the strength of stainless steel, the lip that allows items to be placed in it, and the workstation tag line with multifunctional items. Minus a couple naysayers the reviews for this product is really high. I truly could not wait to get this sink in. The install went smooth. We were able to do it ourselves and the look was OK. Nothing stands out about this sink. It looks like one you would find in a restaurant kitchen. It didn't take me long to realize the cleaning this thing is going to be a bear. I had a stainless steel sink before and figure this would be similar. It is not ... *The drainage does not go down the drain from all angles . We have a sprayer and it takes many attempts to spray everything toward the direction of the drain. The water ends up sitting on the bottom anyway. *Food particles gets stuck in the right hand corners. (See the improper drainage comment above ) *The bottom grate get food stuck in it and must be pulled up every night to dry . *I used window spray , a towel and finally a microfiber cloth all to try to get the water spots and streaks out & streaks are still there. If you are Type A or like a new sink to actually look new more than the first time use, then this sink is not for you
We recently did a partial kitchen renovation and this sink was recommended. I absolutely love the size, functionality and quality. The sink depth allows for easy cleaning of pots and pans with no spray on the counter. The add on features - cutting board and roll up drying rack are great! I highly recommend!
I went from the plan old two bowl sink that every home renovation cheaply puts in...to this magnificent beauty. I love the large one bowl area and the way the sink is shaped, it takes advantage of every square inch. The drying rack shelf is so great too as its like bonus counter space. The only con is that its a little annoying to have to clean the bottom of the sink once a week or so as food particles can get stuck.
This installation was a drop-in. Overall, the sink itself is superb. However, the mounting clamps are terrible - they are hinged and collapse with the slightest pressure from a screwdriver. Because the clamps are about 8 inches above your access point, and the access pocket is very narrow, it is impossible to tighten the 11 clamps in the limited time available before the recommended silicone sealant applied to the underside of the sink lip begins to harden. Hex head screws for the clamps (instead of Phillips) would greatly improve, but not totally fix, the clamping system. One would still need a flexible shaft driver at least 13" long to tighten the clamps - Who has one of those? Because there is only a 1-1/2 inch gap between the outside of the sink bowl and each inner side of the typical 36" cabinet, the 2 clamps on each side of the sink are nearly impossible to tighten. The clearance is so tight that lowering the sink into the opening with those side clamps in place invariably causes interference. It took four dry fittings/rehearsals, plus application of the silicone sealant to the counter to opening, rather than the sink lip, before final installation was attempted. Kraus needs desperately to fix their clamping system before this sink can be recommended.
The sink is solid and the size we need in a busy kitchen. The accessories are also useful and gorgeous.
Wow, this farm sink is stunning! We just opened it to make sure everything was ok and it seems to be of high quality. It will be a while before we can install it and I can hardly wait. I love that it is a work station as well. If your looking for this style, order it today. A great price as well!
Delivered on time. Good product and looks great in the kitchen. I do not recall getting the strainer drain with the other accessories in the box. I love the fact the cutting board and drying rack sit in the sink. I finally have my counters clear!
We chose this sink because we loved the clean aesthetic and included accessories. The roll up dish drying rack and cutting board that sits on the inside edge are super well built and look great when not in use. We haven't had any issues with this sink after 6 months of use. The stainless steel rack that protects the bottom of the sink can get grimy, but we've found that throwing it in the dishwasher helps. We love the Kraus product line and are glad we chose it for our remodel!
This sink is the centerpiece of my remodeled kitchen and I absolutely love it. I cook a lot and the accessories make my life so much easier. I keep the cutting board over the colander and use them daily. I can even slide a dirty pan underneath them and out of the way while it is soaking. The width of the sink still gives me plenty of space to wash and rinse. The drain at the corner makes it very efficient for utilizing space underneath for cabinets. I have a standard cabinet under the drain, plus a drawer base and recycling/trash pullout. My contractor had not done this before but he really liked the result. I had looked at a competitor that was very expense and I believe the Kraüs quality may be even better. If you want a galley-type sink-workstation, this is perfect!
Perfect size, I wanted this type of sink but couldn’t get it in ***** ****** or ****** because of the size offered was bigger. Completes my kitchen Reno project
Building our home, a farmhouse sink cabinet was wrongly ordered and installed. Instead of reordering original cabinet or paying high $$$ for their sink, we were pleased to keep cabinet and bought sink here. Our builder is impressed with quality and price! Yet to use, but like I say, he and we are impressed. It looks great and also love included racks and board!
Just finished installing and then celebrating that with a first use and heavy cleanup after a day of having no sink. I love the details, the design and the quality. The 16 gauge stainless is the only way to go for a sink this size (other than heavier!) The Kore Workstation is the right geometry for our needs in a smaller home. And, every angle, every detail just spells quality. It is terrible to say, but I've had too many sinks that arrived with some quality issue. This one was spot on. This sink replaced an existing cast iron sink in a small home, so the main impetus for us was maximizing space utilization. The workstation concept for a change over was perfect. The Kore design just about doubled our available flat area while enabling the ease of safely cleaning large pans and ceramics.
I love my new Kraus stainless farmhouse sink! It came with several great accessories including a drying rack and cutting board which fit perfectly over the sink.
This is a great looking high quality sink, and the included cutting board and rack drain are really helpful, it also has a rack to protect the bottom of the sink from getting scratched, I’d buy it again!
We bought this on the recommendation of our countertop dealer and are extremely happy and pleased with the quality of this sink. They installed it very easily, its an undermount (so very happy with that), heavy duty 16 gauge steel and it looks beautiful. I love the depth of it and the feel of roominess that I did not have with my other sink. All the extra's that come with this sink are bonuses! Thank you Kraus--I am back to loving doing the dishes!
Very happy with this high quality sink, especially the cutting board and drain rack accessories.
Great quality. It looks fantastic and the size is amazing. We love the cutting board and drain rack accessories. Installation was tricky however. I had to order extra trim pieces to cover the sink cut out because there is no room for error in the apron cut out. The last sink we installed in a different kitchen had room to sit over the cut out on the apron so it covered a less than perfect cutout. This sink sits inside your cut out so small imperfections in the cutout show! This is a must to know before you cut into the apron sink base cabinet. The extra trim to cover the little gaps will look fine but I wish I didn’t have to add the trim ($$) or have the carpenter back for additional cost. The money saved by ordering this sink instead of the ****** is a wash. So choose wisely.
