At the time of this writing, I've been using this ac unit for about 2 months, and so far, everything is good. It cools my bedroom well, and the exhaust hose is fairly easy to install/remove from the window. It's easy to operate, though I could do without the chiming sound that occurs whenever a button is pressed. There is one bit of confusion regarding the control panel: The instruction manual refers to the 3 buttons in the "Mode" section as "fan", "cool", and "dry", the "dry" mode being for dehumidifying only. However, the control panel on the unit itself has an "auto" mode instead of "dry". Despite my best efforts, I have been unable to determine what this "auto" mode actually does. The ac does indeed engage in "auto" mode, but the temperature selectors do not work; it just seems to be some sort of useless pre-set mode that holds the temp at 72F. Anyway, the "cool" mode works just fine and maintains whatever temp is set using the ac and/or fan. Also, the instruction manual indicates that the temp readout on the unit is for the set temp; however, this isn't true for my unit. The temp readout indicates the room temp, not the set temp. In spite of these discrepancies, the unit is working well, and I do recommend it. It may be a bit loud if you're a light sleeper, but I like some background noise when I sleep, so it suits me fine. If anybody knows or figures out what "auto" mode is truly supposed to do, can you respond to this comment and let me know? Thanks! If I experience any changes with the product, I'll write an update. But as for now, it's a good, effective, easy to use ac unit that will effectively cool a bedroom or perhaps a small rv/camper.
A little on the noisy side, but cools our master bedroom well! Only problem is that the window kit panel only fits a window, and is not long enough for the sliding glass door we have in that room.
I have no issue with this unit so far. However I have spent much time trying to remove a sticker that covers 1/3 of the flimsy plastic front panel. Who in their right minds expects to pay this kind of money and have to remove this? Can not tell you how flipping annoying it is. I am not happy.
Easy to put together, but make sure the bracket back panel, lines up with the two holes on top of one of the side panels. This was not in the instructions. Other than that the hamper fits the bedroom perfectly. The color is a very dark mahogany.
