I bought this bed because, at the age of 63, I didn't want to build my own again when moving to a new place. I spent one to two months shopping online and comparing products. One of the important aspects of my purchase was buying solid woods. I didn't want to purchase an "****" type product that featured mdf materials. After much thought and different places of different materials, I decided to purchase this furniture. When it arrived, I had nothing but a clear space, in my new home, to assemble the bed. I even brought my own toolbox and power tools, just in case I might need them. Boy, did I! The bed is made in Indonesia. The drawer pieces are made of mahogany. The assembled pieces on the sides are 1/4" mahogany, and the bottom is 1/8". There is no dovetail construction, and slim nails are provided to connect the drawer sides to each other. VERY cheap and flimsy. Two pieces were missing. I called the company, and they sent them by mail the next day. The assembly, by a professional carpenter, myself, took from 8:30 a.m until 5:30 p.m. There was some frustrated cursing and complaining, again from someone who has built custom doors for a 50 unit apartment building, from clear wood with lap joints, dowels, and mahogany trim that was finished with 20 coats of Tung Oil and varnish. Just beware, you wonderful innocent customers. This attractive bed is NOT what is advertised. I wish you well in putting together. Be warned and advised.

made in Chine is always a risk. Sometimes the pre-drilled holes do not line up for the drawers under the platform. Very frustrating to get the drawers in straight.
