  • Drawers don't fit well, had to shim support member
    Verified Purchase

The unit was packaged well, although the inside of the base had a large chip taken out of it. Luckily it was on the inside of the base of the unit so it isn't visible. The assembly went well. Like most people it took me around 3 hours to carefully assemble. I would recommend chasing out the holes prior to using the hardware supplied (wood screws) as they are not durable and will strip easily if you don't apply appropriate technique for fastening hardware (Do not try to use power tools). I do have two disappointments with the design and instruction. The assembly sequence makes it hard to do some of the fastening. I would suggest leaving the doors off until the end (especially with the install of the "counter top"). I would also assemble the towel bar to the side panel first prior to assembly of the side panel the the base. It is not easy to get at one of the allen heads. The bar that has the middle drawer run supports is under designed. I had to shim it so that the drawers would fully close, All in all...a good deal....not a great deal...

  • Nice looking and functional

The box was extremely heavy and I had difficulty getting it into my house alone. It took about 3 hours to put together. Instructions are very good, just take your time. Once put together, it looks just like the picture and has lots of storage. The two front doors rub a bit when I shut them, and there was one piece of wood with a small chip. I will fill that in with black paint. All in all, I am very pleased. It was just what I needed in my kitchen to increase storage and counter space.

  • Good piece for the price
    Verified Purchase

The overall quality of this cart if quite good. It's not quite as solid or attractive as some we looked at in stores, but at less than 2/3 the price of those, it is more than worth it. The main structure pieces are solid wood, and the wooden top is nice. The side panels seem a bit thin, but I don't expect anyone to be kicking them, so that's OK. Cupboard doors and drawers are pretty solid, though there are a few spots where the paint if less than smooth -- you'd have to lean right down and look close to see it though. Finally, if you're using this as an island, and not placing it up against a wall, the back of it is essentially two thick plastic sheets that slide in between the main frame supports. They look fine, but not as nice as the front appearance. Took me about 3.5 hours to assemble by myself; no real problems with the process, though a second pair of hands would have been useful once or twice.

We expected it to be bigger and more square. Oh well. Instead of using it as an island, we use it as our wine cart in the dining room.

  • Attractive and functional

This cart provided the additional storage and functionality I needed in my kitchen. It is an attractive addition as well. It was not easy to assemble, however. It takes patience and the ability to read and follow direction carefully.
