This is our new dining room rug. Sort of brave for us with small children, but I love it so much and the price was very good. I thought it's worth it. It is not a white white.... more off white which works well for me. It's under s more tradition table and chairs which I hope to replace soon. But for now this rug adds the modern touch I was looking for.
I"m not kidding when I say I have been diligently searching for a rug for 2 years! I had decided in the end that I wanted to go with a shag for our living room but everywhere I looked (and I looked EVERYwhere!) if they were good quality, they were $XXX.XX dollars, if the were affordable, they were crap. I finally found this rug online and felt it was going to be too good to be true. I started at the screen for an hour trying to decide between mushroom, ivory, beige, or taupe. I clicked on taupe and couldn't be more pleased! It's a very gray shaded medium brown color. Simply stunning in my rustic home where I use lots of natural colors that are more on the cool end of the color spectrum. This rug is very plush, thick, and soft. My dog has made it his new bed (much to my demise). I would recommend this to anyone! I can't tell you how happy I am. Also I did not notice any odor from the rug after rolling it out. Had friends over the night after we got it and they didn't notice a smell either. I'm thinking of buying another one in a different color for our loft. Simply wonderful and Affordable!
Love this rug and get so many compliments. The colors are really nice and it's much softer and thicker than I was expecting. Feels good walking on it and it didn't have a funky chemical smell and laid flat in a day. I love how it looks in my living room. My guy laughed at me when I seriously said it tied the room together but it does! I put this in front of the fireplace with a huge cow hide bean bag and the colors/pattern look great together. A nice place to hang out in front of the fire and get cozy. So happy with this purchase!
I ordered this rug in the 6.7" X 9" size. It just arrived, and I just finished setting it up. I looked at many similar rugs here and elsewhere before choosing this one because it had the most consistently high reviews. I am SO HAPPY with my choice!
I was looking for something to layer over the existing "meh" utility carpet in my living room. I plan to recover my chairs, one of which will be in a multicolor print. Since the room is small, I didn't want the carpet to be too loud or busy and compete for attention or clash with the soon-to-be-print chair cover. But I also didn't want it to be boring. I was looking for something in a neutral color that still had a nice look and feel and a touch of whimsy to it to add detail and interest to the room.
With other "beige-on-beige" carpets, a common complaint was that the shade was not true to the online pic, and it looked dirty right out of the package. This rug had a lot of reviews that said it was true to color, and I can attest to that. The cream/light-beige is light enough to not have that "dirty carpet" look, but not so light-colored that you have to fear walking on it. I've added some pics in several different lighting scenarios, so you can see that it really does match the Overstock pic.
Some folks have said they wish it was a bit thicker, but for a "rug on top of carpet" scenario, it's plenty thick enough. It also feels comfy and plushy under my feet.
It came very well packaged, had no odor upon unpacking, and rolled out flat right away, save for a very slight curl on one of the edges (the edge nearest the door on the green chair side. I may tape that down overnight just to help flatten it out, but it's hardly noticeable.
I think it adds just the right touch of interest and whimsy to my tiny living room, and does a great job of reducing the eyesore of the butt-ugly apartment carpet. I am Goldilocks-happy with my new rug and highly recommend it!
I ordered the Ivory carpet with Burgandy accents and recieved it within10 days of ordering. I was very happy with the quality, color and construction of it. I had read several reviews and had mixed feelings about ordering it based on the comments in regards to the main color (ivory) looking like more like a buttercream than ivory. In fact, mine is a little darker than I would have anticipated 'Ivory' to be, but it's a beautiful creamy color that goes well with shades of anything. I didn't order a mat, as I already had one, but I found that I didn't need one at all. The carpet is soft to walk on, and lays in place well on a hardwood floor, with only a coffee table sitting on it. I was surprised at how quickly the carpet lay flat after unrolling it. My friends tell me how beautiful it is and ask me where I got it. When I tell them where and for how much they are astounded! I keep telling them; check Overstock.. you'll find great deals, I always do.
I was honestly worried that this rug would look great and feel terrible, or vice versa. I unwrapped it and rolled it out, and it was beautiful and comfortable! I'm very impressed. It was a great price, and seems to be great quality!
I can't tell you how good this area rug is. It is excellent quality and looks exactly as the the picture. Many compliments. The first one ame damaged in transit. I called they said they'd get another out the next day, which they did. They made the arrangements for UPS to pick up the next day.
This rug really pops but the colors in real life look different than the photo on this page. It's more of a rich burgundy red, dark brown and the blue is a brighter baby blue. It's a much richer color combo than the dusty desert look in the overstock photo. It was fairly inexpensive for the size so great value. It will take quite a while for it to flatten out from the creases caused from being rolled tightly. If you run your hands over it there is a weird plasticky residue. I am using it in a rental unit so I know the construction and material will hold up well to wear & tear & stains. If you have babies or kids rolling around on it, however, be aware of the weird residue. It will probably come out if you vacuum or steam clean it.
I rarely write reviews--in fact, this is my second in my whole life. I love this rug--it is soft, does not look cheap, and has the perfect antiqued look. I followed some other reviewers' advice and ordered this color because what I wanted was a cool, taupe color--and that's exactly what it is! Our walls are white and our trim is taupe, so this works perfectly. (It could also go well with greys.) This rug is a perfect fit. We have two chocolate labs who are pretty well behaved, but no way will we invest thousands in oriental rugs. We are just now graduating from Ballard indoor/outdoor rugs now that our youngest is no longer a puppy. If you are looking for an inexpensive, neutral, antiqued rug with cool tones, this is your rug.
The rug looks exactly like the picture, as the other reviewers have said, with one exception. On my monitor screen, the darker accent colors look like red and grey and the background of the rug looks mostly beige/taupe. The exception is that the grey is actually various shades of green and although not what I expected or planned for, is lovely nevertheless. It works perfectly and pulls the whole room together. As far as quality goes, I find the quality to be excellent and am totally confused by the review(s) that say otherwise. The pile is nice, the weave is great, and it has the really nice woven edge, not the tacky bound edge that you see on a lot of rugs. I don't even think you necessarily need a rug pad if you don't want to spring for one but if you do, it will make it extra deluxe. The was one minor issue; the rug arrived with these weird dirt/sticky spots on the back but customer service offered either to replace or discount the cost even further. I couldn't deal with packing the thing back up again so I took the discount "as is" which was fine ;-)
I bought this rug mostly for the colors, it really gives you a lot to work with. Silvery blue is dominant with purples, cranberry, navyou and burnt orange. I definitely recommend a carpet pad with it though! One thing to note is that it is color heavy on one end, not totally symmetrical (which is apparent in the listing images).
I debated about this rug because there was so much variation in reported color. The rug that showed up at my house is dominated by a rust orange and highlights of a dark red/purple. The dark areas are actually dark green. I was worried when I saw the edges of the rug and there was dark green and rust orange but when it is rolled out the effect was pleasing. I have a living room that mixes mid century and antiques, the rug fits in great and doesn't call too much attention. Looks great on my medium colored oak floors. Probably would clash with light colored wooden floors. It does have a bit of a smell but a day in the sun and I think it will be fine.
I am a decorator and often mix together high and low priced items. Who wouldn't want a hand made Moroccan Beni Ourain rug? But if you don't have $3K-$10K to spend on a rug, this little workhorse of a rug is a great look at a great price. I chose the man made fiber rug over the wool rug also offered at O. The rug I got is for my own home, for my living room. I have pets, and sometimes man made fibers are easier to keep clean. And it was half the price of the wool rug.
My new rug is soft, beautifully made, and looks wonderful.
These Beni style rugs have been trending hard for the past three years, and I think it's a rug style that that will outlast the trend, and look nice for years to come.
This rug feels great! However, it doesn't quite look like I was expecting... the white shown in the picture is actually grey causing the rug to appear much darker. And also the pattern seems more "marbled" then clear like in the picture. Initially I thought of returning it, but I did not want to pay the shipping cost back. But after a few days down the look has definitely grown on me! And like I said feels great under your feet and is soft enough for my 6 month old to learn how to crawl on! So overall I'm satisfied! :)
Well first of all I was debating between a flokati but didn't want to chance the shedding. In saying this was the overall modern look I wanted in my living room. It arrived and the color is white. It's a fair rug since I purchased it during a sale and using my o rewards it was about 130. For the price it's a great rug. Not sure if I will keep this rug in the living room long term only because I want something more expensive looking. With kids this works for the mean time. It is also fair in the softness department. I think down the road I might move it into a guest room, I think it would look great in a bedroom of some sort. Overall I'm satisfied with this rug, I think the thing you must know when buying this rug is you cant compare it to a high end, because it's not. I have read many reviews on this rug and others and people don't understand that you can't expect to get a $1000.00 dollar rug for a couple of hundred dollars. I think if you keep this in mind you will love this rug. I even looked in stores and most rugs in this price range were super rough and hard. This is soft compared to others in this price point. Also I have not had a any problems with shedding which was also a big concern when purchasing.
