The fan piece is nice - just think the middle is a little wobbly. The top part just sits on the stand - there is no way to tighten it to make sure it is a little more secure.
This was the only nice looking fan that was outdoor rated that I could find. Item is as described and pictured. It's not too heavy and is easy to move. I use it on my 20x10 covered deck and it is perfect. The only downside is that on the high setting, it is kind of loud, but not too much to be annoying. I love it.
I purchased 6 of these filters because the normal filters at my local hardware store are $50 for two. Clearly, I made a smart decision because the are rated higher than the competing brand. Easy to install and easy to store.
What I liked about this fan is that comes with a thermostat that can automatically turn the fan on when the temperature rises. I bought it for the bedroom window. It fits in the window perfectly, with the window fitting into a bit of a slot on the top so that it is easy to "catch" the fan to hold it straight. The fan has 3 speeds and unfortunately even when it is set for the lowest speed when the thermostat turns it on, it starts out with the roar of a high speed and then slows down. Also, my fan makes a bit of a clicking noise as though the fan blades are just barely clipping the protective screening. Since I wanted the fan for the bedroom, I wish it was a bit quieter. I think it should have been designed to turn on with a slow speed rather than the high speed. However it is much quieter than a window air conditioner and the thermostat makes it very useful. Also, you can turn off the automatic feature so that it only comes on when you manually press the on button.
