I am so glad I brought 3 of these fans. My apartment is quite small including the kitchen and bathroom. One sits on the top of the microwave and it gently quietly cools the kitchen. One is the bathroom and the third is close to my sleeping area. I will happily recommend this fan! And the price is great.
The previous reviewer complained about this heater's small size, but it's supposed to be a "personal heater" - it's not for warming an entire room, but for putting next to you at your desk, or in the bathroom while you're washing up. For this purpose, it's perfect. My office is always cold, so I keep this on top my computer terminal (which sits on the floor). The upward draft of the warm air keeps me nice and warm. (I've tried putting it right on my desk, but then it makes my face too hot.) I have another one that I keep on a little table next to my vanity in the bathroom. I turn it on as soon as I walk in there in the morning, and it helps warm me up until I get myself moving!
This has to be the best fan that I ever owned. It is so quiet, even at its' highest setting. The air is actually cold. It is obviously not just pushing around the hot air without any cooling effect. I am not sure how it does it, but the air is so nice and cool. It also has the option of vacillating with the fan not moving. Great for kid safety . It even has a handle on top for easy carrying so I don't bend my fingers all the time.
We have an A/C vent that is behind a china cabinet, which restricts the cool air circulation. The cabinet is up on legs, so were considering a 'squirrel cage' type fan to go under the cabinet. Did some research, and found this tower fan with the 'squirrel cage' fan in the bottom of the tower. This fan is top notch. The footprint is 12", so it's not obtrusive in the room. The fan has air intake vents at the bottom on both sides so it sucks the cool air from under the china cabinet, and sends it out over the dining area and the kitchen. It is strong enough on high to blow to the other side the dining area (nearly 15 ft), and blow the draperies around. The fan looks good, moves a lot of air, and is reasonably quiet. On high speed, I would call it white noise. It is not silent on high, but we dont find it to be an issue. Remote works well and operates exactly like the manual controls on top of the fan. Assembly is a matter of 8 screws. Follow the directions exactly, and you'll be up and running in no time. We have multiple Lasko products that we have had for years, and at this time see no reason not to expect the same from this fan. Highly recommend this one!
