This is at least my 4th fan with this title. It is quiet, has a strong grip and is well engineered and manufactured -- it feels very sturdy. The on/off switch is a new design from the others that I have, and I definitely like it! You can very easily use it as a clip-on fan, or you can place it into the stand (as pictured) to sit it on a table. I keep one next to my computer, one on my bed's headboard, and one sets out wherever I am working on a project. I have one also on standby in case I have overnight guests who enjoy a fan nearby. I definitely recommend!
The fan arrives fully assembled. Take it out, plug it in. The Oiled-rubbed bronze color is a lovely deep brown that is exactly as you'd hope for and expect. On this fan, the on switch is actually a slide on the fan's base. This is nice as you don't have to reach behind the fan to turn it on and off. It's a relatively quiet, steady hum too. My only issue is that it's a little big. I did measure and check the dimensions, so it's not the fan's overall size, but rather the weightiness and oomph of it. I assumed from the picture that it would be a touch daintier. I think the scale of the fan is just a bit off...a smidge too big for most table tops and the like. However, I'm keeping it, but I'll have to move it to the side a bit so it isn't so prominent.
I bought this last year-2016 for my bedroom and it cools the room down quite well. I have only had to use it on the first setting along with one of the settings that switches the rotation of the air. I love the remote also. It has a timer to shut off after I fall asleep and don't need it. I just bought another one for my husband and another one for a back up. They always seem to stop making the good things these days so I want a backup in case one has a problem or I wear it out. I have mine on a carpet and it doesn't fall over-it has a large enough bottom. Very happy with this fan. I hope they will last.
