  • Love it, 2 years down the line

I got this exact carpet 2 years ago, I am using it in the dining room area. Still looks very well, the model is actually very interesting, with jute like background and velvety 'flowers'. Very large, protects the floor very well. We vacuum it very frequently and seems untouched by daily use. I have a 6 yo and he's not outgrown yet messing with crumbs and food gets on it daily. I loved it is not a classical design. I found chair cushions with polka dots in same range of colors, so I built my dining area around it. I actually returned to my order if I can see a long narrow one as well. It is true that it took some weeks to 'settle' completely flat after being rolled for storage, and that was annoying - but as a long term 'investment' was worth its money!

This really is a neat rug, but the floral areas are raised and the tufting is tight, so it is uncomfortable to walk on. If you place your chair on the flat brown part and the floral raised part, your chair will rock back an forth from the unevenness. The colors are nice, but it just isn't technically that great. Sorry!

My problem with this rug is more a problem with Overstock. When it shipped it was rolled tight with cardboard at the center. The rug had obviously gotten wet at some point before it was delivered and the cardboard got wet and moldy. The mold transferred to the rug. Yuck! I could have returned it but I was able to pull the mold out with vinegar and a steamer. Still, the mold was not a happy discovery. Also, it was really very "wavy" from being rolled so tight and hasn't settled out yet three weeks later. This is probably because of the material it is made from (its an outdoor rug afterall). As such, it may not be the best rug for your bedroom. Ours is under our dining room table.
