We were looking for a secure locking mailbox that we could allow up to a weeks worth of mail to accumulate in. I looked at a lot of mailboxes that were made with thin sheet metal, flimsy locks, and poor workmanship. This box looked good on the website but you never know for sure about the quality until it arrives. I was impressed with the stoutness of the box as well as the craftsmanship and finishes. I had to improvise a 3/4" plywood base to accommodate our existing pipe column supporting the mailbox, but that was easy to do. Now we no longer worry about mail thefts, and we don't have to ask the neighbors to pick up our mail when we leave town. I would recommend this box to anyone in need of a locking mailbox.
I just received my mailbox and I am so disappointed. The draw for me was this interesting spring-mint- forest color. Get rid of the spring and mint and you guessed it-- pretty much a forest-green mailbox. It looks sturdy and well built and the price was good, but if you draw is the color-- keep on shopping.
