Questions & Answers

  • Q:

" Does your company also make doors similar to this but without the lattice portion? I mean that they would have just the plain rice paper inside the frame without any lattice. Would such a door need to be thicker than 1 inch in order to be sufficiently sturdy? "

  • Q:

" What are the dimensions of the translucent paper portion of the door? I may want to put stained glass panel (S) to see over the paper part. Can the door be used I may want to put stained glass panel(s) over the paper part. Do the doors arrive as undrilled slabs? I would want to purchase separately some barn door hardware and then have my contractor install the door slabs as barn doors. "

  • Q:

"Do you have to install the sliding door into the floor or ceiling? Or can you just place the whole frame securely between two walls and open the door that way?"

    • A:

Hello neematoad, thank you for your inquiry. This isn't a ready-to-use, no-assembly-required type of item. It’s more like a piece of construction material like you could get at the hardware store. As such, it can be used in a variety of ways, and you will need to consult with your contractor on the best way to use it. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

  • Q:

"is the bottom track a requirement for complete install? ... or can I just have the doors siding from the top mount alone? reason being I cant puncture holes on my floor"

    • A:

Hello JennySmokes, yes, you do need the bottom tray for this installation. I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. Thank you for shopping with us!

  • Q:

"Is there a matching set of screens that slide for a smaller space, such as a window?"

    • A:

Hello eastwest1! This screen is beautiful! Unfortunately, we only have this one size in this model. We do however a similar screens that I would encourage you to look at. Thanks for shopping with us.

  • Q:

"Do you have a detail sheet that shows the header and sill design and measurements? Also, any information of connecting 2 sets? Thank you."

    • A:

Thank you for your question. The dimensions for the sliding doors are as follows Rough opening (outside dimension) approx. 83" tall x 73 ½" wide x 3 ½" deep. Tracks and jambs are approx. 1 ¾" thick. x 3 ½" deep. Each door measures approx. 36" x 80" x 1". A contractor is required for the installation of these doors. In order to connect them, the vertical part of the frame would need to be removed where they would be connected. I hope this answers your questions.

  • Q:

"Is the physical door actually 83 in., or does that include the track? If that is the actual height, can the doors be trimmed, my rough opening is 83 3/4 and I would be using bypass hardware."

    • A:

The height of the door is 83 inches, including the tracks.

  • Q:

"Does the bottom track stays above the floor, in an existing condo.?"

    • A:

Yes, the bottom track will stay above the floor.
