Story Behind the Art:
'I'm Bansi Jhalani, an artisan from Rajasthan. Ever since I was very young, I knew I wanted to create something interesting and different. I decided to learn how to make ceramic knobs. That was back in 1996. I have my own workshop, where my assistants help interpret my designs. I love nature and am inspired by it, which why most of my knobs are shaped like flowers, while the others are round to resemble mother earth. My designs are carefully handcrafted with clay and fired in an electric kiln. Then, some pieces are hand-painted with floral motifs and finished with non-toxic glaze. I'd like to teach this art to others. I'd like people all over the world to have my designs in their homes and appreciate their beauty.'
