This handmade bench from India is a unique piece of world art that will enhance any decor.

Story Behind the Art:
This bench was handmade by local villagers in the Judhpur area, located in the Rajasthan province of India. First, they weave the kilim, making it to the exact dimensions and then upholster onto the handmade sheesham wood frame. The bench comes with twist-in legs and measures 47" L x 10" W x 16" H. Herat Oriental has been providing beautiful, authentic, handmade rugs and furniture to Worldstock for over 10 years. Worldstock has given us the opportunity to create jobs for over 2,000 local village weavers and artisans, which helps them to greatly support their families. The majority of the weavers are women, who live in the villages of Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. As we grow with Worldstock, we are able to create more jobs for female weavers who otherwise would not have the opportunity to do so. The community also thrives from rug weaving and furniture production as the local farmers benefit from wool sales, and the local artisans create natural and vegetable dyes for the artisans to use in their designs.
