  • An interesting novelty light
    Verified Purchase

I am using it as a unique and interesting nightlight with 7 watt bulb on a hallway console table. It also serves as an uplight for the artwork above. It looks great. I do wish that the base was weighted somewhat. I added non skid rubber to feet.

  • Charming lamp
    Verified Purchase

This lamp is a beautiful thing and it is an amazing value! It's fairly simply made - rice paper lines the open top basket that houses the light bulb. I have it on an Asian antique chest and it looks so authentic while providing a subtle but useful light source. The chest is tall enough so that you do not look into the light basket and therefore you do not see the light bulb until you get right over top of it. It makes a perfect occasional use lamp and one that is a unique and remarkable value!

Not unsurprisingly the bulb is exposed and the emitted light is quite evident at table level so either use low wattage bulb or place above eye level--I purchased for use on top of an armoire realizing the light emission may be problematic based upon the photo/design. Slightly flimsy with a "plastic-y" feel thus the only 2 star rating but OK overall for the price. A bit of a short electrical cord as well.
