Story Behind the Art:

• This rug was handcrafted by weavers in the Bhadohi village of India, where the majority of weavers are women from Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. Through rug weaving, we are able to create more jobs for female weavers who otherwise would not have the opportunity to do so. The local farmers also benefit from wool sales, and the local artisans create natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers to use in their designs. As a result, the community thrives.
