    Story Behind the Art:
'While in junior high, I lived in a neighborhood where there are a lot of carvers and I assisted them in sandpapering masks and other carvings. This got me interested in woodcarving, and I also did well in art classes at school. After graduation, I decided to go back and assist the carvers. Even though they couldn't pay me much, I felt happy and satisfied, and was glad to go to work with each new day. Now I work on my own. The most challenging part of this craft is when am designing my work, and the nicest part is when I mix colors to paint. My hope is to become an excellent designer.'

I bought this for my sister and brother-in-law. It is darling with ducks carved on one side and a tiny village on the other. The color detail is also very nicely done. My sister and I traveled to southern Africa where we spent a month observing animals and the beautiful countryside. The best part of that was the people we met and this bowl is a nice reminder of that once in a lifetime experience.
