Lilihan rugs originate in west Persia, and are celebrated for their intricately woven designs, vibrant colors, and high-quality wool. This natural wool adds not only years to the rug, but also provides dirt-repellent qualities and thermal insulation. The design seems on pointe with elegant arabesques and curvilinear floral motifs against the burnt orange inner field, complemented by a handsome border. Handwoven by Armenian artisans in Persia, Lilihan rugs, hailing from the southern region of Arak, are highly regarded for their exceptional design aesthetics. Traditionally characterized by a fusion of curvilinear lattice motifs and classical floral patterns, these rugs often incorporate elements of geometric design as well. Crafted using the sturdy Hamedan (single weft) weave and featuring symmetrical Turkish Knots, these rugs are known for their tight, flat weave that guarantees remarkable durability.
