Hand Knotted Bhakhtiari Navy,Red Wool Traditional Oriental Area Rug - 8' 5'' x 11' 7''
Story Behind the Art: Dating back to 19th century, Bhakhtiari Rugs originated in west central Iran and are considered to represent tribal and village tradition of Persian rug making. These rugs combine geometric patterns with Persian floral motifs in a unique fusion that Bhaktiari rugs have become famous for. Most famous amongst Bhaktiari rug designs is the Khesti (garden motif) where the rug is divided into squares with plants and animals, symbolizing the Persian garden with accompanying medallions and life tree-motifs.
