About 20 years ago I purchased a hammock on the beach in Tulum, Mexico. I used it for the last 18 years and since our recent move cannot find it. Over the years the color faded but it held up great overall. This hammock is the same as the one I purchased then (except for the color), same materials, same size, etc. I am looking forward to many years of relaxation to come. These hammocks fold small and are light weight which makes them great for travel (I used my last one to sleep in when camping in Yosemite) and they are the most comfortable ones I know off. Highly recommend to everybody!! I purchased the single size and it fits great on my hammock stand (not too big).
I am swinging in comfort with the kids outside. We love it!!! Reminds me of being back in Mexico on our honeymoon. When it gets wet it has a smell to it so you need to let it hang and air out.
Saw many of these hammocks in Mexico for the same price, so I felt the online price was fair, and I didn't have to carry it home, it was delivered to my door! The directions on making the hammock knot are good. I don't need all that hardware to hang this hammock. It's so easy to take it down and put it up. Now I understand how they took so many down and up on the beaches in Mexico! ( they stay clean and dry, too.) Although this one has weathered several summer storms and still looks bright. The color is great!
Previous reviewers who gave this hammock a bad rating need to know that this type of hammock is intended to be used the opposite way they are used to lying in a hammock. The user must lie across what seems like the width and not the length. When you spread the netting out with your head, torso, and legs the net spreads out wider than the actual length and is extremely comfortable. The larger version actually accomodates two people and if they lie opposite each other they will have a cozy conversation place! Back up to the hammock's center and pull opposite edge of fabric netting up over your head, then sit in the center of the netting while you push off the ground with one foot and spread the netting edge out away from you with your other foot. Voila, you will have a slight swing and sway while you drift off to dreamland! Shoes are a no-no as they might damage the netting. I have had several of these over the years and I am giving this one a 5 star rating because the copper glow is so beautiful.
