This swing is beautiful, comes together easily (you will need someone to help you bolt the four pieces of the chair together at the very least), and is complete with cushions - a nice added bonus. The cushions are lightweight, but very comfortable. I'd recommend purchasing some sheet straps - the kind with the metal "claws" on the ends - to secure the cushions to the frame because they will not stay on otherwise. This chair has tipped over on us a few times. At first, we thought it was because we'd briefly moved it onto a flat area of our back lawn to allow for a few more seats to be set out along the patio. However, after moving it back onto the patio itself, it's tipped over a few more times - twice with men under 250lbs, and twice with a 53-pound child on it. It seems stable enough if one is simply sitting, but if rocking a bit or swinging a little, it's not reliably sturdy. Also, although the metal frame is wrapped with plastic stripping that resembles wicker, it's not completely wrapped - the edges that have to be bolted together are exposed, and they can scratch the support pole, skin or anything you may set the chair next to. It is definitely beautiful, but now that I'm concerned as to its safe use, I wish I had purchased something different.
I debated on which of these rope chairs to purchase because overstock has several different kinds and they have mixed reviews. I absolutely LOVE this chair! It wasn't the easiest thing to hang, I also purchased the "Hammaka Spring Hammock Chair Accessory" but in addition to that we had to purchase a metal O ring and some chain at Lowes. My boyfriend drilled it into a beam on our porch so that it would support the weight, you can't just put it anywhere and expect it to hold. It took some trial and error with the chain to find the right height because it does stretch down quite a bit so the ideal height will be different depending on your height/weight. I love it, I sit in it every day. I ended up only using one cushion for the bottom and none for the back because I find it more comfortable. You have to play around with it, if you sit further back it's more like a sitting position vs sitting more toward the front you lean back more in a lounging position. I don't see how anyone could fall backward out of this chair.
Roomy and soft. Easy to hang. It didn't fit the old metal hammock stand I had. So I bought some hammock straps to hang from trees. I didn't want to drill holes in my old oaks.
A very pretty swing that is well worth the cost. My last swing was wooden and it rotted after one season. Being metal I don't see that as a problem and it isn't uncomfortable. I placed a cushion on the bottom but I don't feel I need one for the back. Easy to put together . I plan to get many years of enjoyment from this swing.
