We were buying a new home with beautiful trees in the back yard and found the most UH-MA-ZING hammock from Overstock! This is wide enough to fit two, is reversible if necessary and this is so comfortable that whenever my husband or I I sink into it, we nearly fall asleep! The fabric is of a a thick, comfortable fabric with a bit of a length-wise quilted seams providing an extraordinary rest! We love the calm muted greens, Browns, tans and subtle fray-blue lines and is very well constructed and easy to hang. We ended up needing to get chains that stretched a bit further to the tree hooks but that was no oversight of Overstock--rather the tree distance! You won't be disappointed if you purchase this UNBELIEVABLE HAMMOCK! It's one purchase that I have found to be exactly what I would ever hope to find in an excellent quality hammock!
Previous reviewers who gave this hammock a bad rating need to know that this type of hammock is intended to be used the opposite way they are used to lying in a hammock. The user must lie across what seems like the width and not the length. When you spread the netting out with your head, torso, and legs the net spreads out wider than the actual length and is extremely comfortable. The larger version actually accomodates two people and if they lie opposite each other they will have a cozy conversation place! Back up to the hammock's center and pull opposite edge of fabric netting up over your head, then sit in the center of the netting while you push off the ground with one foot and spread the netting edge out away from you with your other foot. Voila, you will have a slight swing and sway while you drift off to dreamland! Shoes are a no-no as they might damage the netting. I have had several of these over the years and I am giving this one a 5 star rating because the copper glow is so beautiful.
I purchased this beautiful hammock with visions of relaxation on breezy summer days. As I should have expected, my kids had other plans! This summer (and fall) it became the hang out for the neighborhood. Kids ranging from 7 to 15 have literally piled on, swinging - not just gently swaying. Although this looks amazingly delicate, it held up to the abuse. Maybe next year I'll get a second - labeled "parents only" : )
