I have this canvas in a huge 47 x 47 that I got at Bed, Bath, and Beyond in 2009. The colors in this photo do not come close to doing this piece justice. The colors are much more vibrant. Also, the main color is a a sunnier gold, not this blah, tan-ish-brown color that shows up on my Macbook Pro. It's gorgeous - a meditation, visual poetry. Don Li-Leger's work is modern, and abstract-ish, yet feminine. How someone pulled that off, I don't know. Frankly, I thought the artist was going to turn out to be an Asian woman. I guess it was name and the softness, the flowers. I don't resonate with the paintings of his son, Noah. Many are of the same general genre but masculine. I'm not sure why it took me so long to check to find out who the artist was. Finally did, today, hoping I could figure out how to replace this one in case something happened to it. What beautiful work this guy does in asian fusion. Just spent $500 bucks here buying some 16 x 16 sets and two bigger ones - all stretched canvas. Also, checked all over. Prices here are by far the lowest, especially for sets.
If you love color...you will love these! I have other pieces by Li-Leger and so these compliment what I laready have. There are 3 peices so you can be creative about the way you display them. I love artwork with flowers and such... I am waiting for another piece that I found at Overstock by none other than Li-Leger!!!!!
Purchased a frame off the shelf at a national chain art supply store in antique bronze with a subtle leaf edging that brings out the vertical bronze leaf toward the center of the painting. Just needed my husband to do some extra whittling of the inside edge so the canvas would fit inside, doesn't need to be professionaly framed because the canvas is narrow enough for an off-the-shelf to fit around it.. Just love this piece, never owned an abstract before, but Li-Leger is a good place to start.
