Love this. The covering is a brown gray faux nubuck looking fabric. Very nice. The wood is a rustic gray brown stain. It sits a little lower than another Somette futon I have, but it is not a problem. Very comfortable.
This took us about 2 1/2 hours to build. It wouldn't have taken as long, if page #2 had been included. The instructions had two page sevens, so we had to find instructions online. The mattress is pretty thick, it's definitely heavy. You'll get a good night's sleep. We also had a lot of extra parts that aren't even apart of this futon. The photo for this futon is also a little misleading, the real cover slouches, and the back sits up pretty high due to its length. Overall, I would recommend this futon if you need a large mattress and are short on space (such as living in a studio). Here's a link to an instructional video for putting this futon together, if you need it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ft5suJSRhp4
A friend took 2 hours to put together but everything was there and it worked. It holds the futon in place comma and the support is good on the back, and it looks nice. The only thing I noticed is there is no actual cover that holds the futon stuffing together except the denim one that has a zipper on it. I'm not sure what happens when you have to wash that cover. So far it seems to meet the bill.
I've had this mattress for going on 5 years and am only replacing because I want a couch instead of a futon. Holds up well, the cover for it is awesome because you can wash it and keep the mattress itself clean. My only complaint is that it tends to slide down.
