Living space is very expensive where I live so have to make great use of every inch. This puts high expectations on anything that consumes it. My quest: disassembled (to fit up old, narrow spiral stairway with a ton of stairs), lightweight (so it can be moved around once assembled), durable (as it will be main seating), non-cloth (to repel pet hair) and double for sleeping. All aspects not only met but exceeded! Comfort and aesthetics weren't expected - but got those too. I'm almost 6 ft and and over 35. No discomfort during or after sleeping on it. Excellent product despite the low price.
I have never owned a futon before and thought it would be a perfect solution for a temporary bed when my daughter visits. It is a perfect little futon for my office, but for sleeping, not so good. ...however, it never promised a good sleep, so I don't think I can hold that against it. My daughter rated it a 4 out of 10 for sleep. So we ran to the store to buy an inflatable bed. However, I still love it for a cozy little sofa that I can take curl up on when I am reading. ( It is hard, though) I love how the arms go down. Possibly if one bought a memory foam pad, it would work. I don't know. Be aware that is only 30 inches deep. I understand that a twin mattress is 39 inches deep
