It took HOURS to put together, but the instructions were easy and clear and easy. It is very heavy. I wish there was a mention NOT TO COVER YOUR OUTLETS. The 34" recommendation was good for the night stand height, but covered my outlets so I had to cut holes into the head board to access the plug ins, or re-drill the wall a few inches up, but then the night stands would be above my head and I thought I night hit my head. Seemed a bit odd. Otherwise looks great.
This looked like exactly what we wanted for our game room. I bought two of them. Assembly is easy, the power cord can also fit a chair with an additional function - for this chair, you end up with one part of the Y cord just not attaching to anything. The cord is nice and long - if you had to run it around the room a ways to find an outlet, you could. Movement is smooth and quiet, as far as power motion chairs go. BUT. After sitting in it for half an hour, I can feel the frame of the leg rest. After sitting in it for an hour, I can feel the frame under my butt. After using it for a few weeks, the nice puffy padded roll right at the front where it would go under your knees is flat. If you shift your weight in the chair with the feet up, it tips over forward. Kind of a safety issue.
I have waited almost a year to review this nightstand as I wanted to be sure that my first impression would continue. I am still very happy with this nightstand, and am not surprised to see that (as of 9/5/17) it is out of stock. It amazes me that I managed without this item for so many years, as I use it all the time now! Most other reviewers mentioned the power strip inside the top drawer, which is handy. However, if you want to have your iPhone on top of the nightstand while it is charging, you cannot close the drawer in this case. This was not a deal-breaker for me, as behind the nightstand I had my electrician install a new multi-functional wall receptacle that has two USB ports as well as electrical outlets. I can charge my iPad in the closed drawer while my iPhone is charging on top of the nightstand from my wall outlet. One other thing, if you want to insert an oversize plug into the power strip, which has 3 outlets, it probably will preclude plugging in a second electrical device as they are spaced closely together. I agree with other reviewers to be sure to have heavy items, such as books, in the back of the deep bottom drawer to avoid tip-overs, even though this is a heavy piece of furniture. I highly recommend this nightstand as it is well-made, comes already assembled, has the slide-out tray, and even the brushed nickel handles are attractive. I have rosewood dressers, and this blended nicely with them. Although I wish it had been made in the USA instead of Indonesia, it is very difficult in recent years to find such products with the "made in USA" label.
