This product really does a good job if after you bread your food you spray it with pam generously it does give a golden brown crust if not the breading doesn't cook.
Not much has changed on this thing. I recall my mom getting one in the 80s. It's a cheap no frills alternative to stove frying and I like you can re-use the oil to save money. It works fine, we used it for fried chicken. I wish it came with a mesh splatter shield for the top, beware, the oil will splash little splatters all over, be sure to put it on newspapers or something to throw out easy so you are not cleaning up a big greasy mess.
