Product was delivered on time as ordered and works perfectly. It is a nice size, not too big and not too small, so fits easily on the counter top, but could also be stored without taking up too much cabinet space.
I ordered this online based on reviews I had seen. I sent it to my boyfriend for his birthday. It arrived safely! He loves all tje attachments and the large size because when he cooks it's usually for a large group of people. So far clean up has been easy. Please note that this model is not for you if you have limited counter space.
After my cheap mini chopper bit the dust after only a few uses, I had been hesitant to buy another without researching for the exact product that I needed. I mainly wanted something to grind nuts for baking and was looking for chopper that was easy to clean and operate.
This is the ticket. I am very pleased with this product. It's great for grinding and chopping most anything, from graham crackers for pie crusts or onions for your meatloaf. The fact that I have complete control over the power is a plus. You push the button to pulse the item- no on and off switch. Just plug it in, get ready and whirl away.
Use it all the time. I have used it to make dough, little chopping like onions or garlic, bigger chopping jobs potatoes and carrots for stew or soup. I make breadcrumbs, shredded cheese. I can make a pizza using it and an oven. I can make cranberry sauce. It is a very good food processor, and I waited until I got a really good price.
I have not used mine yet but from what I can see it is made very well and I love the fact that the slicer blade can be adjusted to different thickness.. I am looking forward to making lots of healthy goodies in it...
Would I recommend this to a friend? I already have! Seriously, as someone who went to culinary school and spends a lot of time in the kitchen, I love to cook and like high-end equipment but am very, very poor. Ha! So, with Vitamix firmly out of my reach until Bon Appetit comes calling, I did some research and found this little powerhouse. Hot soups? Check. Protein shakes? Check. Citrus dijon vinaigrette? Check. Green smoothies? Check. I just made my own sorbet by tossing in frozen mango, a frozen banana, a whole (peeled) orange, lime juice, and a little coconut water and BOOM - extreme deliciousness in my mouth. This stuff is so silky smooth I can't even believe it.
The way the motor unit attaches to the top of the containers instead of the bottom means that when you're done blending/chopping/whatever, the blade (multi-tiered and amazeballs sharp!) lifts out, so you can scrape out every last bit of awesomeness and rinse out the pitcher with ease.
I could not be more pleased. I'd write more, but I keep coming up with stuff to blend... and I'm not even hungry....
I tended to not eat vegetables as often as I should simply because of the time it takes to prepare them. I decided to check out the prices for a Cuisinart on Overstock.com and found that the price was quite a bit less than I thought it would be. The FP-8SV seemed to be just what I was looking for and it had great reviews so I bought it. So glad I did! I never knew chopping veggies could be fun. :-) And just as important, it is really easy to clean.
I have been using this guy for 5+ years, it did a lot of good jobs...chopping and grinding.. Recently I found it also can be a dough maker and it did an amazing job! Just pour some water and add flour and press "grind"! Now I am thinking of buying the same model but a bigger one!
I bought this little gem for my daughter's first studio apartment. It is pretty tough, elegantly and simply designed, stores easily without taking up a lot of precious storage space and is lightweight enough to easily move around (but heavy enough to be sturdy and stable). It works quietly and efficiently if you don't ask it to do something that it wasn't meant to do. Like make margaritas or something. The night the prepper arrived, I tried to use it to whip up some guacamole. I could not assemble the thing so that it would work. (No, I hadn't read the instructions.) The next morning, I had a chance to get a better look at it and figured out that I simply hadn't been closing/ locking the top completely. An intelligent built in-safety function had prevented the motor from turning on at all. Seriously!? Sort of embarrassing. Once I figured out how to close the top, it all came together very snugly. It's done a neat job with chickpea dip, salsa and guacamole, so far. I'm curious to see if it will grind coffee beans well... As you might have guessed, I considered taking this one home with me and to heck with my daughter' sfirst kitchen...but then decided it was much wiser to just order another, also metallic red. (It comes in amazing colors.) No, I don't work for Overstock.
Small but sturdy food processor (FP). note: the base, the attachments, and the tops are the same as their larger capacity FP, so if you need a larger capacity FP occasionally, you can purchase a separate larger bowl ($**) for substantially less than a larger capacity FP.
My full-sized Cuisinart finally died, after 30 years of use. I really didn't want to spend $200-plus on another full-sized one... found a refurbished model, slightly smaller, for under $*. It arrived quickly (the packaging was horrible, btw; the outer box was totally open at the top), and the machine is just great.
The size is perfect for what I purchased it for, which was salsa. I stuff the ingredients in and I turn it to chop and within 30 seconds it is ready. This item exceeded my expectation. I am very happy with it.
It's fast and efficient. It pulverizes nuts and veggies like mad. The bowl scrapers save a ton of time and work quite well.
I only docked it a star because it's so very loud. However, the loudness is very brief since it works so fast.
My sister-in-law had just purchased one when we were there for a bbq and I really liked the design and how easy it was to use. So, we ordered one! So far, I love this thing...It's easy to clean up and doesn't get as grimey as most traditional blenders because of how it breaks down for cleaning. The blades are a little scary to clean, so take care in cleaning them, but overall, I'm happy. It blends everything from frozen fruit into a smoothie to cooked corn for soup, and minced veggies for salad. I'm very happy with this little guy so far and hope to get a lot of use out of it down the road.
I've had this little chopper for about two years now and it has performed flawlessly. It does everything I want it to do, and then some. It is made of heavy cast metal, not cheap plastic, and is very sturdy. It chops and grinds like a dream and clean-up is effortless. Simple, easy, and effective . just the way I like it. To to it off, I got it at a real bargain for only $**** (last item, with no box). You simply cannot go wrong with this little gem if you use it the way it was intended light chopping and grinding, and pureeing. Yes, I am a skilled home cook and I highly recommend it!
Bought a refurbished one first and had to return it because it stopped working after the first use. Bought a new one and was frustrated because I forgot to add the warranty and when I called customer service they told me that it was too late and it could not be purchased separately and that they also could not add it to my order. So far it has been working fine, but am worried that I don't have the additional warranty with it.
I love my food chopper...it came in the box, works just like a brand new one but for half the price. It's only got three parts to dis-assemble and clean, which are very easy to clean at that. The cord wraps around the unit for easy storage and doesn't take up much room on the counter. It's so easy to use and clean up is a snap. So far I've only made smoothies (yum) and pesto sauce, but I can't wait to discover how many other things I can use it for. I also love the little spout for adding liquid while blending.

What to Look for When Shopping for a Food Processor
Food processors come in several different bowl sizes ranging from small single cup food processors to huge multi cup food processors. Do you need a mini-prep appliance that can handle one or two cups, or do you need a much larger 11-cup processor? Commonly available sizes include 2-cup, 3-cup, 4-cup, 8-cup, 9-cup, 11-cup and even 14-cup, so it’s easy to find the size you need. Whether you need a mini food processor for chopping small quantities of veggies or if you need a much larger model, there is an option that’s perfectly suited to your needs. There are even adjustable cup food processors that allow you to switch between bowls of multiple sizes. When deciding on the bowl size for your processor, remember the size of your kitchen as well. Choppers with larger bowls take up much more space than mini food processors.
Like most small kitchen appliances, food processors and mini food processors are available from numerous brands. Some of the most popular manufacturers of these mini-prep stations including Cuisinart, Hamilton Beach, Cuisinart, Breville, Nutribullet and KitchenAid. From the popular Hamilton Beach Stack line to the higher-end Breville Sous Chef or Cuisinart Custom food processor, there are several options in many price ranges from which to choose. The Breville Sous Chef line is great for experienced cooks while Hamilton Beach products are perfect for beginners. These countertop machines also come in a wide range of colors to match your kitchen. Red, black, white, gunmetal gray and stainless steel are the most popular options.
Think about what tasks you need your food processor to perform. Will you use it strictly as a chopper and dicer, or will you perform other tasks like grating and slicing? Will you need to use it to puree food and combine ingredients together like a blender? If you plan to use your food processor for a multitude of kitchen tasks, look for one with plenty of attachments. There are special blades that are made for things like slicing and shredding. There are even attachments that will allow you to mix and prepare dough. Love veggie noodles? Look for one that has an auto-spiralizer attachment. If you're looking for the processor with the most options, look for one from KitchenAid. KitchenAid processors come with a multitude of attachments, and their ExactSlice system ensures perfectly prepped food every time. The ExactSlice system allows you to to adjust slicing thickness simply be sliding a lever. When shopping for a multipurpose kitchen appliance, it’s also important to look for safety features. Things like rubberized feet keep processors in place and prevent accidents. Make sure the feed tube is long enough that you cannot put your fingers inside and that the multi cup food processor you choose has a feature that prevents it from turning on if the bowl is not in place securely. You may also want to invest in an accessory that will safely store the blades for your chopper.
Pay close attention to the wattage when shopping for a processor. The higher the wattage, the most power the appliance has. Processors with a higher wattage chop through food faster, and they are capable of handling greater quantities of food at one time than less powerful models. Choosing one with a wattage that meets your specific needs makes prep work much easier.
If you plan on using your food processor for several years, look for one that comes with a warranty. Many brands, including Cuisinart, KitchenAid and Hamilton Beach stand behind their products and offer warranties that protect your purchase. Most brands offer a one-year warranty, but some higher-end brands offer two-year warranties.
