I used two 60 w bulbs thinking that would light the room sufficiently. You definitely need a higher watt bulb. I think I will try 75 w next. Glass shade diffuses the light more than I expected.
I wish i could post a picture like their competitor site allows (aheem Overstock). I'll try to post a link but not sure if they allow it. Anyhow,The fixture is beautiful! I originally intended to purchase the semi-flush, i guess i wasn't paying close enough attention and didn't notice it was flush until it was already hung. However, i like it enough so the mistake doesn't bother me! Semi-going by light/room size guidelines (room l + w= ideal fixture size). My office is 12 x 12 but imo a 24" fixture would be way too overpowering! I got the 16" and couldn't be happier, it's the perfect size. My husband said it was a pain in the a** to install but didn't elaborate. It took about 20-30m to install including the time to remove the old light. If I had any complaint it would be there is a visible solder line on one area of the fixture. It may just be my unit that has it (manufacturing mistake?) Still, i highly recommend! Fixture is larger than it looks in pictures but that was expected since I did read the dimensions before ordering. Quality seems good and the necessary mounting items (screws and bracket) were included. Not sure what metal it's actually made of so could possibly rust in a damp environment. I would purchase again since it looks nice and was easy to mount.
