    Needed a handy hot water pump pot. This one came and was broken. You could hear a piece ratting on the inside sealed in, and there was a hair in it. Not sure if it was used before or happened in packaging it. I returned this one. However, I've seen these before and they are very nice and work well. I would still recommend it.

  • Keeps water hot but not boiling hot

    While the water is kept hot enought that it steams when you pump it into a cup, it is not boiling hot. It therefore does not allow for a steaming hot cup of coffee or tea. Rather, it allows for a mildly hot cup. I do like the size -- it stores well under the kitchen sink when not in use, and does not take up too much counter space. It is also easily moved since it has a handle. The pump feature is great, as you do not need to press any buttons to dispense the water.

    Really like the dispenser just wished it didn't have a small visible dent and that all the features worked. The locking feature for the pump does not work. Using the dispenser anyway, not worth sending back, will purchase a different one next time.

  • Control consol is not user friendly

    The instructions do not indicate the unit will change the lock/unlock mode by itself. So, it is very confusing for guests and it requires that I explain it to each user how to use it. A user has to press the "lock" button and then the "dispense" button to get hot water to use the electrically actuated pump. After a few minutes, it reverts back to the manual mode and you have to hit the "lock/unlock" button again before hitting the "dispense" button. Consequently I called SPT to find out if that's the way it's suppose to work or if there was a manufacturing flaw. It was the way it's suppose to work but even the guy I called to get this explanation got confused during the explanation. It is a poor design and I suggested that the engineering department do some redesigning, or at least relabeling. The "lock/unlock" mode should stay in the mode selected until the user chooses otherwise. In addition, more accurate labeling would be "manual/electric dispense" instead of "lock/unlock". If the unit is unplugged it should automatically go to "manual". I thought about returning it but all of their units work in a similar way and I couldn't find another manufacturer that had units that were this large and had both electric and manual pumps. One plus is that the pot is not overly noisy.
