We were so excited when these tiles came in--then after looking at them and laying a few on the kitchen floor: THESE TILES ARE NOT BLUE !! We wanted a blue combination with ____(what the tile color had) was OK but we need MORE MORE BLUE to match our cupboards. AGAIN: NO BLUE on these tiles.
We used this in our small laundry room. We installed directly to our plywood subfloor although the directions say you can install over some existing flooring. There was some prep work to make sure the floor was level and all screws or nails were sealed with caulk but laying the planks was very easy. To trim pieces for the edges it was easy to use a utility knife to score the plank and then a simple bend and snap would break the plank at just the right length. I used a multi-tool for some cuts that were more involved. The finished product looks great. The color is dark and a little shiny. The grey color is multi-dimensional and you can see blues and browns in it. On my screen the image looks true to life.
The Light Gray color ended up looking blue in the room. The adhesive seems to be very good. We will see with time, but they were easy to place in the room. They are very thin. I thought the ones I replaced were thin, but these are much thinner. Also, they were smaller than the ones I replaced, which is strange because they were labelled with the same dimensions.
I just ordered Blue and Gray mixed tiles and laid them in my sun room in a specific pattern. Installation was easy and fast. However note that the colors differ from box to box slightly and between the 2 different colors and even same color with different boxes the size was sometimes slightly different so that I had to trim occasionaly. Upon completion, you could see the color differences quite apparently. However if you install in a fun room or a room where you are not counting on continuity, then these tiles are an excellent choice for the price paid !
