I purchased a set of lamps from a competitor that were described as iron and the decorative part arrived crushed. I replaced them with 2 of these. I am thrilled. This lamp is sturdy, easy to assemble (5 minutes) & well packed. Two tips: 1) The finial is not metal. I accidently thought the part was the harp alone and tossed it. The finial chipped. I quickly fixed it with some super glue and a sharpie. No one is the wiser. 2) I opted for the GE 3 way bulb at $2 instead of the LED one for $20. The LED claims to last 25 years. I won't be using these lamps daily and may even change my taste in 25 years. I love the environment, but like saving money too. Obviously, if shopping on this site :)
I have had this lamp for about six months now and it works perfectly with the LED bulb that I put in. I love the simple, minimal yet elegant look of it, and it's perfect for the small space that I have in my seating area. I would recommend it for anyone that appreciate a simple and minimal style.
This lamp is just plain awesome. I have it hooked up to a dimmer switch with dim-able LED bulbs and I can go from candle light to sunlight bright if I want. I have a large vaulted ceiling living room with no built in lighting and this one lamp is all I need to have as much light as I could possibly want in this space. The shades are pretty cool too!
I decided I needed to have a sputnik style floor lamp and set about searching. I liked this one the best. The bronze color is perfect for the rustic/industrial theme I have going on in my pool room. The 12 arms of unequal length also gives the lamp a much cooler look imho. Lamps with equal length arms and fewer bulbs lose something. The light bulbs themselves are also pretty neat although I think I will try edison style leds next round. The incandescents look great but put off some heat. The base has a weight in it to keep the lamp firmly planted. Overall, the construction is what I would expect these days with one critical exception. The tiny screws that hold the arms in place are subpar and strip very easily. I usually take other people's warnings about such things with a grain of salt as I am pretty handy. I was prepared to patient with the tiny screws based on what others had said and experienced some success until my last arm where I stripped two of them. I think there may have been a metal spur inside the hole but I'm not sure. I had to JB Weld the last arm in to place. If not for that, I would rate the lamp a 4+. I am still happy with the purchase. It looks great!
