I think this concept is really cool, especially when it comes to conserving water. Unfortunately, the 4 alkaline batteries (which is required) are short lived. In approx. 3-1/2 weeks...I have "replaced" the batteries 3 times! Perhaps, me & my family wash our hands & brush our teeth too much! :-D Additionally, there was a flaw in our unit (during the night I heard it turn on by itself a few times). No ghost! I don't know "why" it did this. I do not have a light on in there or any shiny objects nearby to reflect on the "sensor". To remedy this problem...I decided to turn the faucets in the "OFF" position during the night. That way I won't have to worry about the automatic sensor turning itself on without anyone there to USE the running water. I was also surprise to learn that the i Touchless Co. is in a nearby business park, a few blocks from where I reside. I'll call them and inquire about the device turning on by itself (even when there is no one there to "activate" the unit). HUM....
We love this faucet! My husband installed it himself and had a harder time getting the old one out than installing this one. Don't be intimidated by the wires and doodads that make it work under the counter. The spot resist stainless is a beautiful finish and matches our stainless appliances really well. The sleek spout and shaped handle make this a transitional style that will age well and never look out of date. The water flow is aerated but more than adequate, and the pull down spout really does retract and seats itself perfectly most of the time. We are glad we paid extra for the motionsense to make hand free washing simple and easy. The unit we received has an issue with the top 2 minute sensor. The front sensor does still work just fine, and Moen is overnighting a replacement to fix the top sensor. We are very, very happy with this purchase. We feel like the Jetsons!
Saw ads for this in numerous home magazines and thought the touchless feature was a brilliant idea. Bought this and a Kraus low profile kitchen faucet at the same time because I absolutely adored the Delta Touch2O feature but I kind of dig the look of the Kraus faucet. Had a side by side comparison of the two and immediately returned Delta. Let me just say it's clunky, looks cheep, feels cheep, came with poor packaging , twice of the cost of the Kraus faucet with only half of the quality. It does not have the weight attachment for retractable hose feature. And for how expensive this faucet is, all components were made of cheap materials. At least on the bright side, the 4 or 6 AAA batteries were included and Overstock return and shipping were super fast and hassle free.
Love this faucet! We almost went with the touchless version, but after researching we were hesitant since so many reviewers say it tends to have a mind of it's own and turns on and off without warning. So we went with this classic version and couldn't be happier.
