This fan delivers what it advertises. It has an antique look but unlike the old cast iron fans, it is safe for use and half the weight of an old time fan. It's made of metal, not plastic which I really appreciate. The bronze color leans more to brown than black and the cage for the blades is tighter than the dangerous old time fans. It has 3 speeds and oscillates as expected. It cools a room as well as a ceiling fan. I may be buying another one.
I really love the fan but will never understand why a company that prides itself on design and aesthetics would use a dark brown electrical cord on an all white fan.
The fan arrives fully assembled. Take it out, plug it in. The Oiled-rubbed bronze color is a lovely deep brown that is exactly as you'd hope for and expect. On this fan, the on switch is actually a slide on the fan's base. This is nice as you don't have to reach behind the fan to turn it on and off. It's a relatively quiet, steady hum too. My only issue is that it's a little big. I did measure and check the dimensions, so it's not the fan's overall size, but rather the weightiness and oomph of it. I assumed from the picture that it would be a touch daintier. I think the scale of the fan is just a bit off...a smidge too big for most table tops and the like. However, I'm keeping it, but I'll have to move it to the side a bit so it isn't so prominent.
This fan is an attractive medium brown metal fan. It is stable due to the weight. The screws that hold the head of the fan to the pedestal are unfortunately plastic so I am concerned that the threads will strip easily. For now, they are secure. The breeze is adjustable to some extend but is good for my tastes. The noise level is OK - a high pitched hum although when it first starts up there is a rattling noise - I don't know what this is. Otherwise it produces a decent white noise for me. The packaging was adequate and the arrival time was as estimated. The only problem is that one of the pieces to the pedestal was cracked when it came out of the box. I immediately contacted ovestock.com for a replacement part. They emailed me saying they had the part. Now nearly two months later, I still do not have the replacement part despite emails telling me its on the way. I really like the looks of the fan and the breeze and the noise level; just not the cracked part.
