I am not crazy about the retro green color, but I can overlook that as the fan itself is awesome. Other reviewers have tried to describe how this fan oscillates without moving. As good as some descriptions are, I still couldn't picture it. All I can say is wait until you get it home, and you'll see how different, but yet wonderful it is. The grill does not move, but the oscillation is just as good, if not better than other fans. The fan is well made for this day and age. The back is all metal, while the front and sides are of a durable heavy plastic. No worries about little children or animals getting their fingers or paws into the fan. It can't be done. I don't worry about my cats tipping it over either. Although if a large dog were to whack it, or a child pulls on it, it will fall over. It has a well balanced structure, but yet light in weight. Let me explain about the noise level. Since we all have different hearing and opinions, I will compare it to other fans on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the loudest) and the fan on the lowest speed. To me, a regular old metal box fan is an 8. My new tower fan is a 1. I can't hear that at all on low even standing right next to it. This fan falls in between somewhere around a 4. Which to me is perfect white noise for sleeping. I can't tolerate the noise on the highest setting but chances are you won't need it, unless you want it blowing more than 25 feet across the room. I really was looking for a table fan. Although rather large, this still works for that purpose. I didn't think I would use it for other rooms, as I have fans galore. But this fan is so easily transportable and efficient that I find I do carry it into the kitchen and place it at the far end on the floor when I am cooking. It is very useful and I am quite pleased with this purchase.
This was my second time purchasing the 12 Inch Blizzard fan. This time I bought two. The fan runs quietly and it has certain features that make it a stand out. The fan has a remote control with a handy opening in the back of the fan to store it. The fan also has a timer -- 1, 2, 4 and 8 hours -- so that you can set it and leave the room without worrying about whether or not you've remembered to turn the fan off. The really unique thing about this fan is that the breeze it provides is very natural. If you close your eyes it is as if you are enjoying an evening breeze by the sea. The only (minor) flaw in this fan is that it can easily be tipped over with little effort, especially when placed on thick carpeting. Perhaps one day the fan's designers can redo the base to make it more sturdy. But, otherwise, unless you're living in a home with small children and pets, it shouldn't be a problem. At times, I have placed this fan in front of a running air conditioner in order to thoroughly circulate the air with the fan's rotating grill. It really cools the room quickly in very warm weather. In addition, the look of the fan makes it blend in easily with any room decor. I have searched big warehouse stores far and wide, and could never find anything to compare with this fan. There is nothing like it. Get it while you can. You won't be sorry.
I already had a Holmes Blizzard fan that I had purchased from QVC last year but needed at least 1 more because I sold my house & we moved into an apartment but didn't have a lot of room so needed a strong fan that didn't take up a lot of space. Since I couldn't find them on QVC any longer I checked your website & found that you were selling them with a bonus... purchase one fan & get a second half price so I took advantage of that & I am so glad that I did. These fans have a strong current & I love the features that it has. You can set it to oscillate & it distributes a nice breeze around the room. It is also quiet & doesn't make you feel like you have a big fan making so much noice just to get cooled off! I am glad that I found them & was able to purchase 2 more!
I have Lasko fans before and they worked great. I was replacing one that someone broke - not that it had stopped working. In this case the assembly was simple and the fan puts out a good amount of air flow. The only issues that I found were that 1) the base doesn't seem to attach to the pole tightly; 2) when it is started there is a background "hum" that goes away after a while. All in all I'm pretty satisfied with the fan.
