  • I really like this!

I have read a number of other reveiws on the Fagor Portable Induction cooktops but I really do like this item and would highly recommend it. I did not expect it to be "equivalent" as a comparable to say, a $6000 range (induction) but I did take the advice that I had read that if you were going to buy a portable make sure it was a 110v. I actually bought this item because I am having a fondue party for New Years and the pots I have now are the kind that have the gell or Sterno burner below. Those do not offer even heat and often will either scald or burn cheese or not get warm enough. I also wanted a bigger pot and it occurred to me that whenever I have been to a fondue restaurant, they use induction cook tops and a simple pot. Voila! My Le Crueset pots work beautifully on this cooktop and provide the heaviness/stability to use it for this purpose. I also noticed on a recent cruise that induction cook tops were what was used to make omlettes and eggs to order. We live in Florida and are outside on our lanai so much this will be a nice way to cook some things "al fresco". So it's a lot more versatile than "specialty" appliances, such as a fondue pot. What else can it be used for but....fondue? It is also a nice way to find out if you really like the features of induction ranges and if you will have to make a major investment in pots and pans. You can see if what you have will actually work.
