They are very well made, with quality materials and well done finishes. Also they are very comfortable. My wife likes the fact that they do not have metal nail head trim. They look as good as in the photo. You get your money's worth. The huge problem comes after they arrive. They are almost impossible to assemble. It takes hours and hours to put one of them together. The instructions are terrible (printed in China of course). The problem is that you CANNOT align the wholes with the screws. I used big clams and nothing. I hammered and hammered to no avail. After being upset, mad, furious, I decided to call Overstock to get help or to process a return. Well, I can tell you that they are very nice and helpful, but they also do not have any idea on what to do, except refer you to the crappy instructions. After a productive conversation, they called me back and put me in touch with the EXPERTS from the wholesaler. I insisted to talk to a person who had actually put one of those chairs together. That person, who was very friendly, was surprised that I was having problems. To him it was a piece of cake. Really? I asked him if he had put them together by using only the force of his hands. Of course not, he needed help from another tough factory worker. Your won't believe how they actually do it... I was asked to put the 2 back screws first. Then, put down the chair on the floor with the back toward the top. Then, I was asked to lay on top of the chair (back) and roll back and forward. Bingo! finally I could align the screws with the holes. And PRESTO the remaining chairs were finally done. Don't take me wrong. The difficulty comes because the chair uses heavy materials and you have to apply so much force to get the materials to flatten to align the wholes, that only your own weight and the help of a second person will help. I think that we should have access to a video to be able to understand how to do it. I have read that other people have had difficulty assembling similar chairs. Now they know. Place them on the floor (back toward the top), lay your chest and tommy over the chairs, roll back and forward...

I ordered 8 of these chairs and was a little wary of putting them together based on the reviews. Now, after 8 of them, I can say with certainty that these really are not too difficult to build. To start, I've put together countless pieces of furniture in the past. I made sure to review all the included pieces and hardware and read through the instructions before starting. There are only two steps to putting these together: 1. Screw the two front legs into the seat (two screws each). Super easy. 2. Attach the seat to the chair. This part is a little trickier. Some reviewers have mentioned holes don't line up but I don't think that's the case. The trick here is to not screw anything in tight until the end. Here you're instructed to use two screws to attach the seat to the back, and two to the sides ("wings"). Laying the chair on its back, you slide the seat into place so the front legs are in the air (let's call this the missionary position). I found it much easier to start threading in the longer screws that attach to the back first, but only enough so that they stay in place. Then, I applied pressure to the seat by pushing it up to align with the side holes and then I screwed in those screws just a bit. Then I went back and forth, tightening the screws until they were all the way in. On my first attempt where I tightened too early, it was a struggle to screw them in. One my next attempt, by putting all 4 in very loosely, I found I could twist the screws in almost entirely by hand before needed the wrench. The first chair took me 30 minutes. Each chair after took less time until I could get them done in ~12 minutes flat. The chairs creak a little bit the first time you sit in them but are just fine now that they're broken in. I'm attaching pictures to show how the undersides have a bit of an unfinished look (rough wood, staples, etc.). Doesn't bother me because I'll never see it. The fabric is very nice and just the creamy linen color seen in the pictures. I purchased Scotch Guard because I have a 7 year old who would destroy these. I used 6 full cans covering 8 chairs with 4 coats each. There was no discoloration nor did I see any change to the color of the wooden legs (at least where some spray had touched them). I've had these about a week now and I'm very happy with them. Felt they were an excellent price and will likely be getting 2 more to fill up my table. The only downside is I pictured them to be a little bit taller, but that's just because I didn't pay attention to the measurements.

      Option: Beige

I read the reviews and I was mentally prepared for battle. Chair #1 almost won but I walked away, had success with chair #2 and conquered the first beast. Here are some tips...#1. Wear a headlamp. It's easier to see the holes when you're upside down, face pressed against fabric. #2. Screw the back 2 screws in first as opposed to the side screws, as the instructions read. At least how they appear to read. LOVE the instructions written by an ESL student. #3. Cut away any overlapping fabric from around the holes where the screws will go. #4 Have a tiny screwdriver or similar object handy to dig out the pieces of fabric from the holes if you didn't do #3. Fabric fluff gets in there and the screws that you are trying to blindly place while awkwardly pushing on the chair with your elbow or whatever and makes it impossible to get the screws in. This was key for me and ultimately allowed me to place the last stubborn screw in chair #1. Best of luck people.

We bought these chairs to place at the ends of our farmhouse table in our dinning room. They are good quality beautiful chairs. My only issue was the leg colo appears darker in the picture. We purchased the linen colored chairs and the legs where more of a whitewashed. Our table was a darker gray/brown color. It was an easy enough fix we stained the legs and now they match beautifully. The other problem for me was the stature of the chair. I wanted my end chairs to have a bit more of a presents. Because I went with the look of 6 wooden chairs on the sides and 2 fabric chairs on the end. I do not blame Overstock for this I did not check dimensions and was concerned with the "look" of the chair. It is a beautiful chair and is perfect if you plan to use only one type of chair around your entire table. In the end I am toying with the idea of purchasing 2 more and putting them around kitchen table. But for now with Thanksgiving around the corner I am happy with my dinning room look. As for assembly they seemed to go together extremely easy. My hubby is a super handy guy (built my farmhouse table) and he had no issues. I am a fortunate woman.

First of all, I really, really like these chairs. They look much more higher end than the price would indicate, are firm and solid enough to even hold my fluffy bod, and just really give a nice look to whatever room they're in. However, I ordered the dark gray, and they come with lime-washed legs instead of the dark stain like the lighter colors have. I took a close look at them, and they are definitely not stained with a normal stain. I haven't decided whether I'm going to restain them or not. If I do, it will be well worth it. Assembly was easy, and I took note of some of the other reviews. Because of that, it took me maybe 10 minutes tops to get the legs attached. All in all, I am happy that I bought them. The tufted look and quality of these chairs is just amazing. My only gripe is with the color of the legs.

I love my chairs. Perfect for the style I was looking for in my dining area. Had to sand the legs a bit and stain in expresso to match my table. I read reviews and was worried about putting them together. I was prepared for the worst . But I actually did it on my own with no problems. Needed plenty of light to be able to see the holes where screws go in. Each chair went faster. Make sure to cut away some material that could be covering the holes. Still need to order 2 more chairs but there usually out of stock. Need to keep checking when there back in stock. I've had these chairs for 4 months . So far so good.

We were a bit hesitant to purchase a dining set online that we had never seen before, but blindly took a leap. So glad we did! This set is wonderful. The chairs are very comfortable and look amazing! We added these Evelyn Tufted Wingback chairs to the 5 Piece Signal Hills Cassidy Dining Set to make it a 7 piece and it really looks incredible. So far we are very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend Signal Hills furniture to others.

    • Leg color not as shown, Quality of chair good
      Verified Purchase
      Option: Beige

The leg color is not how it appears in the images on the site. It is a MUCH lighter wood and has more "antique" that it shows. The "antique" treatment has an odd green/chipped look to it. We purchased these chairs to go with our Restoration Hardware round table. Sadly the leg color clashed with the darker wood table. The most frustrating part is that Overstock is charging us *** for returning shipping, when I can clearly show the actual color on the leg of the chairs does not match the color in the images. See attached image to show true color (right) compared with the Overstock photo (left). As a customer who has purchased over a dozen times from this site, not the customer service we had expected.

Beautiful chairs. 4 stars because they loosened after sitting in them for a few days, but didn't after tightening them the second time. These were not difficult to put together. My hubby put 6 of them together in about 2 hours. 5 chairs were used at the kitchen table and the other chair is at the kitchen desk. The chairs went very well with my charcoal drum chandelier which didn't show in pic. Only had these for a few months, so can't accurately comment on quality. Not bad for the price which was incredible. All six chairs cost me just a tad more than just one of my custom living room chairs.

I waited for these chairs to come back in stock in the dark grey and jumped on them when they were available. I was a little scared of what to expect in building these. After reading reviews that they took 40 - 6- mins each, and some cutting fabric to get the screws in. So they arrived Monday night. We started to build at 7pm and by 8:15pm all four were done. Looks like I may have purchased the easier batch. It was an awkward position you had to be in, in order to attach the seat to the back, but once one bolt was in, the rest lined up pretty easily and the allen key used could be a little more gently on your thumbs, but all in all not a bad experience at all. Love the look, love the fabric, love the quality. Can't go wrong with these.

These chairs are great. They look great. They are comfortable. The only thing is— assembly is a pain. We’ve ordered 4 sets (8 total) and a lot of them have had wiggly legs that don’t line up. We exchanged the first one but now, since I’ve decided to keep them, I’ve had my husband fix the wiggle but readjusting the legs all Individually. I think like others have said, the key to the assembly is to just line up all the screws, do not tighten any of them all the way until you make sure it’s all straight. If it’s not straight then set it up right and sit on it and have someone tighten it while you’re sitting on it. The chairs are so pretty and they really work well with our table and overall look and style of our dining room.

Nice substantial in size chairs with a classic look that aren't the same chair everyone else has. The chairs are a nice width and height but do sink a bit when you sit-in them. Kind of weird at first but once you get used to it its fine.
