I purchased this for my espresso loving husband for a Christmas gift. He is loving it so far. It is a great entry level machine, and does the job. We're used to a low water indicator from our Kuerig, and this machine does not have one. So if nothing seems to happen when you try to make espresso, check for low water.
I love this thing! I have been using it daily since October and it has never let me down. I use Lavazza coffee with it and various syrups and sauces. It's very easy to use, and keep clean. I really wanted an affordable espresso machine with a real milk frother and this one is perfect! I was a bit snobbish about ordering a Mr coffee espresso machine but not anymore! I am so glad I did!
We upgraded from a *** pod machine to the Breville. Before purchasing the Breville we researched several other machines, and are very happy with our decision. It is easy to use and works great! If this is your first espresso machine, for optimum performance, invest in a good quality grinder as well. We went with a Breville grinder. In this regard, I would stay away from the the Breville combo espresso/grinder. Although you'll be taking up less counter space, you'll pay extra for the 2 in 1 convenience, and double your trouble if something breaks on down the line. In terms of performance, the Breville makes a great cup of espresso and the milk steamer creates a wonderful layer of froth. We highly recommend! As an aside, Overstock had the best price - free shipping, no sales tax, and with a 12% off coupon, still over ***less than other sellers.
