Receiving the one-hundred-pound box of various wood pieces and screws is daunting; however, taking the time to assemble the Valenciara Coffee Bean Entertainment Console is worthwhile. NOTE: Do not overlook the following product description: "Accommodates most flat-screen TVs up to 60 inches." The Console has a border around the top (as shown in pictures of the product). The width of the Console is 60-inches, so I would advise putting a TV no more than 55-inches on this Console. I have a 70-inch flat screen TV and had to modify the top with two 3/4-inch thick MDF pieces from a local lumber yard. I glued the two 3/4-inch thick MDF pieces together and stained them to match the Console's coffee bean color. For those of you who may want to put a 70-inch flat screen on this Console, I recommend cutting two 3/4-inch thick MDF pieces with the following dimensions: 56 3/4-inches wide and 15 1/4-inches deep. Placed on top of each other, the pieces will be 1 1/2-inches thick: Just high enough to allow the sides of a 70-inch flat screen to extend over the Console border. Other than that roadblock, the Console is excellent. It's holding a 70-inch flat screen, a bluray player, a cable box, and sound system speakers. I highly recommend this product. (Just be prepared for some "fun" assembling it.)
The product had a reasonable price. It was delivered by UPS and left on my front porch. It weighed about 75 pounds and was left on its end sticking up over my front porch railing so that anyone could see it from the street. When I unpacked the TV stand, the parts to assemble it were missing. It seems there was a nice big hole in the box and the screws, bolts and other pieces were missing. When I contacted Overstock to report it, they told me I could send it back to them or take a $50 credit and find the parts myself. Apparently there were no more TV stands in stock and that was there only solution. Of course I was not going to bundle up this 75 pound package and haul it to UPS to return it to Overstock. So I took the $50 credit and hope I can find the exact parts needed to assemble the stand. Thanks.
First unit we received was badly damaged (UPS must have dropped it), but Overstock replaced it without question. The second unit arrived with much better packaging tape to secure the box and it took about an hour to assemble the unit. The attachment of the doors is a little tricky, thus the 4 stars, but the unit as a whole is very nice looking, especially considering the very reasonable price. FYI, trick to the doors is to check the hinge setting and loosen the hinge adjustment screws a bit so the hinges are free to move a bit, i.e. when you attach them to the side panels, the hinges can move freely and not bind with the side, etc. panels; then once attached, adjust the set screws to the correct movement and reveals. Also, we have a new Samsung 55" LED 4K radial screen TV which only weighs 50 pounds and that works fine on the unit....the weight is more critical than the size, so the newer LED TV's are a lot ligher than the older LCD, etc. units.
The cabinet arrived in a box over 100 pounds. Set up required 2 people 3 hours. The instructions were ok,butI I was lucky it went together correctly sice the instructions do not label back and front of pieces. The multiple screws and parts are not labeled on the packages which also is a problem.Once it came together it looked great. One draw was damaged and they are sending a replacement.
