The Burke Entertainment Center is a nice, simple, minimalist unit that was exactly what I wanted to house my cable box and blu-ray player. There's plenty of room for other stuff as well. It's shipped in two heavy boxes and is very well padded to protect from rough handling during shipping by UPS Ground. The unit is all wood and the finish is a dark walnut which looks very nice. Assembly is easy, but will take several hours. It took me 3 hours. The instructions are better than most. I can be assembled by one person, but two people would simplify the process when connecting the two large pieces (top & bottom). All holes were drilled perfectly, but as with all "assembly required" items you have to coax it together before you tighten the screws. There were a few extra of each type of screw/cam-connector which is nice. The only issue I had was I put it together at night, so the lighting wasn't all that good. There are several pieces that look identical, but are not. But you find out a step or two later when another part doesn't quite fit. But I just unbolted the wrong part and exchanged with the correct one and I was back in business. Any the attached photo shows the finished unit under a 75-inch Sony.
WE love the unit. Never purchased a piece of furniture online before. This unit is sold, it is heavy and well made. My stereo components fit nicely in the three extra wide center shelves. We have it resting on sliders so that we can move it forward sometimes. Very very pleased with ...
This is a gorgeous entertainment unit, especially for the price. However it's much darker in person than it is in the picture. It's not quite espresso, but almost (I spray painted the knobs gold; they come black). I gave it four stars instead of five because of how different the real color is compared to the picture.
