It ends up looking very nice, but would have been too difficult to put together alone. I also resented all of the fibers everything was coated in as they are certain to be inhaled being so small. Manufacturers should be a little more concerned about safety. Top scratches easily.
Bought this for master bedroom to hold 50" TV that was re-located from the family room. The unit comes disassembled, and for the most part, is well protected. However, check all pieces prior to assembly - both end panels had components in the box shift, and both end panels had one of two attached cleats severely damaged (the cleats are used to bolt the top of the console to the end panels). The shipping box is very heavy - 147 pounds - too heavy to be one cardboard box without structural supports (styrofoam isn't sufficient). Took pictures and emailed the manufacturer's customer service, requesting that both ends be replaced. Received word that replacement shipped but would be 5 to 7 days out. Went ahead and assembled console while waiting for parts, figuring I'd replace the damaged parts when I had time. The console is still very sturdy, and even though most of it is coated hard board, the finished piece looks very good. When the replacement (yes, replacement - one end) arrived, I decided not to bother with attempting to get the other end. The one piece will eventually be replaced, and I'll just repair the other end. Kind of disappointing, but I'll probably be back to buy other stuff in the future.
The metal detail on this TV stand is very nice. The wood is coated plywood, but it's super heavy. One corner did come slightly damaged but it's barely noticeable. The damage occurred during shipping as it is very heavy.
I got this not TV stand not too long ago and I'm so happy I chose this one- I'm decorating my whole house on a budget but trying to make it look like I wasn't financially restricted and this TV stand looks like you paid more for it. Its comes in a heavy package when it comes to your door which I think most people would complain about but I found relieving because the wood is sturdy. The only complaint is that the 4 pegs that hold it up are plastic but considering the rest of the piece and how little I spent its really not a big deal and the plastic itself is coated in a silver that isn't tacky. I would say if you want something that looks nice but cant afford more go with this piece you will love it. The color, quality, and size is great (its holding up my 50' with no problem and room to spare on either side).
