This was the first time we've ordered furniture online. Even with some hesitancy, we did. The first delivery came really quick, but unfortunately was damaged in transit. The second order took about a month which was longer than we expected, but it was an excellent condition. The color of the unit was right on with the picture shown, it's beautiful, perfect size for our family room and matches all the other dark furniture we have in in our house. Definitely, a well made quality item. Would recommend Overstock for their customer service and overall product.
We loved the look of this piece because it was different the standard tv stands which were to often not more than big blocks with drawers. The top section with drawers is already together and you basically only put together the metal frame then attach the shelves and drawer piece. It looks great and was packed extremely well to prevent damage in transit.
This entertainment center is the real deal. If it meets your color and dimensions range, do yourself a favor, stop searching for other ones elsewhere and buy this beast. I've been looking for a long time now and there's no doubt I made the right decision. It's a very high-quality piece of furniture. I wanted solid wood and I didn't come across too many of them when searching, especially for this size in this price range. I read all these reviews before purchasing and I know much of what I've written below will echo what others have written. Here's some info that may assist you with your purchase decision and installation. - The product packaging is superb. It’s shipped in two boxes of different sizes and one of them is just over the full length of the entertainment center. For reference, I left the boxes in one of the pictures. The TV in the pictures is 65”. I didn't have a single problem with any of the content. You may notice some pieces that may appear to have flaws, but those are the pieces or sides that aren't intended for view once it's put together. You may also find a very tiny blemish on a finished area if you look closely, but that's typical of anything that's natural wood. Installation notes: - You'll definitely need to put in some time with the install. I'd say 4-6 hours if you're solo without using a power drill and take your time with it. You could easily cut that time in half with a power drill and/or help from someone else. All the pieces are pretty much a perfect fit. I'd rate the instructions as very good, but they're not completely flawless and there's a little room for improvement. - Make sure you know which sides are the outer facing sides. They'll be the sides that are the most finished. You can clearly tell which sides are the correct sides simply by their feel. You may wonder which way to install the back panel since that part is viewable from both the outside in the back and the inside through the shelves. I installed it with the finished side facing back even though that side will be up against a wall. It was the right decision since I can barely see that piece when looking through the shelves from the front. You may have different results based on the lighting in your room, but even then, I'd still recommend installing the finished side out. If you're unhappy with your choice, this piece can easily be reversed at any point in time. - I didn't use a power drill. Some holes are pre-drilled. Others aren't, but don't necessarily require it if you use some force or use a power drill. Make sure you use the proper screws in the correct spots. All the screw numbers in the instructions are correct. - Page 4 / Steps 2 & 3 is one area where the instructions could use improvement. There are 4 different types of metal drawer slide pieces in total, not 2. Each pair has a left and right. The wheels need to face the front facing side of the entertainment center when 2 holes are beneath the wheel. The image in Step 2 properly displays this, though you need to look at it very closely to make it out. The "Screw Positions" image in Step 3 is wrong, but the main image right below it is correct. Also note the #2 screws are the ones used in Step 3 as opposed to the #3 screws that were used in Step 2 (ha!). - On Page 5 / Step 5, the camlock screw holes are facing the same way in the 3 divisions on the left side and the one division on the right side. The one division on the right side should have them facing the other way, so they shouldn't be viewable in the picture. The images on Page 6 do show the proper camlock hole positions. - A 4mm hex wrench is the proper tool for tightening the camlocks. A screwdriver will work, but not as well and you may strip the camlocks. The black plastic pieces that come in the same bag as the camlocks are cosmetic covers for the camlocks. In two of the three pictures that are posted, the covers are missing from the camlocks on the side walls of the shelves, but they’re included in the other picture. - On Page 9 / Step 14, the wheels need to be at the back of the drawer while on the outside left/right of the drawer. Slide the metal piece all the way up against the drawer's front so it touches it and screw it into place. Finished Product: - I absolutely love this entertainment center. - A couple of the drawers don't slide too smoothly, but I wouldn't say they require too much effort to open and close. This is minor complaint. I'm sure this is something that will vary from install to install. It's also possible that they break in a bit over time. You may also experience very minimal misalignment with the drawers. A careful and forceful push down on one side of the drawer while it's partially open should bend the rail ever so slightly to take care of that. - The interior drawer dimensions were well thought out. Each drawer will hold ~66 (two rows of ~33) standard size Blu-ray movies/games leaving about 1.5" of space to spare in the front or back or ~54 (two rows of ~27) standard size DVDs/games with no extra room in the front or back. The drawers don't pull all the way out, so taking out the cases in the back row will require you to first remove a couple from the front row.
