This is a solid piece of furniture, and one that I think will survive my children, which given how hard they are on their furniture is saying something. Because it's made of pine, I don't have to worry about formaldehyde, which I appreciate, and it means I don't have to worry about the pieces randomly splintering into pressboard bits. Even the backing and the bottom of the drawers were thin plywood. (I do need to line the drawers, however, because of it.) All the pieces were all clearly labeled, and with glue, a screwgun, an angled screwdriver (for three hard-to-reach screws), I had one of them put together in two hours by myself without difficulty. It should be noted, however, that the screws are going into pine, and at least five of them stripped the wood to the point where they spun freely. If I were going to expect this furniture to hold up for the VERY long term, I would want to use wood glue in addition to the screws, and I may do that on the second one I bought, just in case. The knobs on the drawers are not pre-drilled, so I glued them in, and I will drill pilot holes out once the glue has dried, before putting the screws in; if I had just put the screws in, the knobs would have cracked. The finish is quite pretty, and the veneer looks very good; it arrived with no visible scratches or dings. The parts were all stamped as made in Brazil. There is no hole for an anchoring bracket in the back of the dresser, so I will need to drill one and purchase an anchor for it. Without the anchor, the dresser is easily tipped over by small children - I had to grab it when one of my kids pulled the top drawer out too far and it started to fall. For what I bought it for, this is an EXCELLENT value for the money, and I would buy another one if I needed it.
I was so excited to receive this dresser, as the color of the dresser in the picture is the same as my other dresser. When we received it, we were disheartened to see that the top shelves, were a different color than the drawers! The drawers were a dark espresso color (which we loved) and the top shelves were more like a cherry color. Aside from that, it was sturdy
Very happy with the quality, color, and ease of assembly of this dresser drawer. Even after changing out the drawer pulls with brushed nickel pulls to match the other furniture and swapping out the drawer slides with full-extension, soft-close slides, the total cost was still much less than purchasing a lesser quality (MDF) dresser from a furniture store. I would recommend manufacturer and buy again.
