I purchased this chest, the full/queen headboard, and nightstand for my son's room for $400 total at the time(!). Okay, so we had to assemble it all (not terribly hard, with the exception of the headboard--it's top-heavy and really needed to be anchored into the wall). Like a Lego project for adults, but when it's all put together, it looks so nice. One warning--it's not made of "expensive" material like a solid maple set for example, so you have to treat it gently. It WILL get dinged up if you don't. But for the price, it's fantastic--drawers in particular are very glide-y and smooth.
I purchased two of these chests and a dresser. I'm very happy with them, they are good quality for the price. The backing is a little thin so care is needed when moving the items around the room or cross country (I suggest those flat round feet - I think they're called sliders) to get them around without damage. They look great in the gray maple color, looks like barn wood, or reclaimed wood. The drawers have good runners so the open and close well. I would definitely recommend these.
I bought the grey maple and came in with a slight scratch on the top piece, but I didn't care that much to return. But while I was assembling it, I barely rubbed it with another piece and it got scratched again. Its really easy to scratch and blemish the paint. Another thing to not is that the drawers do no align very well. I had to assemble and reassemble the pieces to get it aligned, but it was still off by a centimeter. Other than that, it gets he job done.
