First of all, do not be put off by all the reviews about how difficult this is to assemble. It is not difficult, but it is just time consuming. If you lay all the pieces out, and keep all the hardware pieces together, it is very simple. I used an empty divided container (like for screws or fishing lures) and emptied each packet into its own compartment. This comes in two boxes and I opened both and took each piece out. From start to finish (including the unpacking process), it took me 90 minutes to complete the assembly. I did use a power screwdriver which in my opinion, is a necessity. I am a 58yr old woman with basic experience using tools. Assembly is very simple if you just take your time and follow the very clear instructions. Two issues I had with this piece: - The four legs each come with a recessed, threaded female insert. A machine screw goes into this, and that's how the legs are attached to the base piece. One of the legs I received was missing this recessed insert. The machine screw had nothing to screw into, and therefore there was no way to attach this 4th leg. I called Overstock to have a replacement leg sent out and they said they did not have any in stock. - My second issue with this piece is that one of the drawer fronts arrived with the corner dented in. It's hard to imagine how this happened in transit, as this piece was in the middle of the box and quite well packed. Kudos to Overstock however, as their customer service department is very helpful and did not give me any push back in the return process.
Sturdy- well constructed, nice size. Drawers work nicely. I would recommend to others. BUT beware (unless they have changed the detailed description since our purchase over a year ago)... If all options are not in stock the description leads you to believe you are getting the mirror with the dresser. This was NOT the case when we purchased because they happened to be OUT of the dresser with mirror option. When we called to find out where our mirror was, they told us it didn't have one. We went back and read the description. It clearly listed the mirror. The options showed one option (the option didn't say 'mirror' but also didn't say 'mirror not included' - there was only ONE option, so we had no reason to believe it wasn't included). We explained this, and they simply said, "Well, when it is out of stock the option simply doesn't show up." We asked why it doesn't show it as 'out of stock' so people understand there are TWO choices, and stated it was deceiving. They basically said, 'that's the way it is'. We chose to keep the dresser since we liked it and the night stands so much. Got lucky, we found that a mirror we had used elsewhere in our old house, now w/o a home, turned horizontally was a perfect fit for this dresser.
I love the look of this dresser but it took me three days (I needed breaks) to assemble it by myself because there are a billion parts including over twelve different kinds of screws and many different parts. You definitely need a good power drill and a good set of tools to assemble it. Make sure you assemble it on a soft surface because I assembled it on the cardboard it came in and by tilting the partly-assembled dresser the sides started peeling a little. Looks great so in the end it was worth it but be ready to spend a lot of time on this one.
