I purchased this chest for my 15 year old son as we recently redid his bedroom. It took about 3 weeks to receive. It arrived in a cardboard box that was thickly wrapped on the exterior with heavy duty plastic and bubble wrap. Inside it was packed tight with styrofoam and the sheet foam wrap. This dresser is a solid piece, no assembly required, which was a key factor in my decision to purchase it. Also, that it was tall enough for my son who is 6'1". The drawer pulls were covered in plastic and we actually removed them in order to get it all off. The color is black, but has a wood grain look to it so it does appear to be more expresso than solid black. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that it looks as if the top drawer is 2 separate drawers (which my son wanted) but it is actually 1. If I had read the description, I would have realized it clearly states 5 drawers. All in all we are pleased with the dresser.
I bought this dresser because with a big closet, I wanted a dresser that wouldn't be huge and bulky to store essential clothing items like underwear and workout clothes. The size was perfect and once assembled it looks nice, however, this was the worst ordeal to put together. With two adults, it took around 3 hours. Absolutely insane. The instructions illustrations were not super clear on which side was what on the track pieces, so we screwed them all in, later to realize that all of them were the wrong way. On top of that, one of the drawers sits lower than all the others, and I can't figure out why - it slides in smoothly just like all the other ones but is just lower (see picture attached). Because this was a pain in the a** to build, I'm tempted to just leave it as it is, but would also like another drawer sent to me (preferably already built?).
This is a nice contemporary looking dresser. It fits together well and the drawers have a nice mechanical slide action to them. It also runs on the larger side, which I like. Putting the dresser together was straight forward, but tedious. It took me roughly 3-4 hours. I don't mind putting furniture together, and I've done allot of it for my new house, but this is a case in which I might have hired someone if I was doing it again.
