The screen fit the door pretty well as an add-on product. It was easy enough to hang but I had to add an additional piece of two-sided tape and bigger strip of Velcro to keep the screen attached to the door (my 1 yr old son could slide his finger and pry the screen off the door). The installation instructions were pitiful on how to actually operate the blind part. The actual blind mechanism was pretty flimsy and the up and down slide is the only one that worked. The tilt slide won't work. Since the door is on the sunny side of the house and I really needed something my 1 year old couldn't pull on or break, it serves my purpose. It beats having cloth blinds or dangerous cords dangling.
We installed these door a few weeks back, and I am very pleased with them. They are very solid, and provide the exact amount of privacy and "sound-proofing" we were looking for to establish for our busy downstairs family room. We were looking for some separation, but the ability to still hear/see our soon to be teenage kids. These do the job. The fact that the windows included full cellophane coverage to the wood frame made painting a bit less painstaking than it could be (still required 3 coats of paint w/primer to deliver the desired finish). The only negative is opening and closing the doors (sliding) requires a little more effort than expected. I attribute this to the weight of the doors (heavy), and it is certainly manageable.
I ordered these doors to replace the old sliding doors in my son’s room that were always getting stuck and only gave half the closet access needed at a time. These doors were very easy to hang with the guide rails, and I swear the room looks bigger now. My only complaint is that I hung two doors side by side to close in the middle. Since the doors are identical, I had to unscrew all of slats and window slides of the second door and flip all the pieces so that it would match the opposing door. Otherwise the dull frosted side would have been facing out. Also, there are no directions on how to remove a window slat in case it’s a little too wide for your space. I found a video online for another brand, but afterwards and an hour of frustration, I realized I had to flip around all the slats again to make it function properly-that would have been nice to have in the instructions instead of causing hours of headache. Also, the latch to hold the doors closed doesn’t work, but the doors line up together when closed and the latch is not needed. I am happy with this purchase, but the directions for removing a slat or hanging two doors side by side should have mentioned as to what needs to be done. Now that I know how to address some of the known issues, I will purchase again.
