Esthetically, these are outstanding architectural quality hinges and the detail and finishing are beautiful. I never tire looking at them. They have a threaded finial, top and bottom, and an internal pin which is only removable in one direction. Up. The steel used in the pins is pretty soft and the threaded brass finials even softer. The pins are very reluctant to remove, requiring a hammer and a 16D nail. The contractor hung the door and then removed it for finishing. It was a huge pain re-seating the pins, even after soaking them in oil. If you install the bottom finial first and thread it all the way, you'll know when the pins hit home. Great hinges, as long as your not planning to take your door off for painting every year...
I just recieved the product, and based on the reviews it was almost a pass, however it is worth the money and it is cheaper on the O I have looked elsewhere and the cost was more than I wanted to spend, also if you read the instructions on the back it is a no brainer to put together. the only thing is that I had saved this black tar looking puddy from hanging some stainless steel and that is what I used to fasten the actual door bell ringer to works perfect, sometimes it pays to hold on to things for future use I would recommend this product for sure you cant go wrong for the money.
