We are a retired couple who recently became grandparents of twins. When our son and daughter-in-law asked us if we'd consider moving to their city to lend a hand with the girls and their 5-year-old son, we said yes. We're now downsizing to a condo and saying goodbye to our vintage 'non-microwavable/dishwasher safe set of dishes. But where to find something we'd like that's more user-friendly and not too costly? Aha! Overstock and Pfaltzgraff to the rescue! I bought two 16-piece sets which would be more than enough for a future family meal. My only 'complaint' about this set is the plates are too big for the 11" deep kitchen cabinets; the doors don't close. However, I believe it's a small price to pay for a reasonably priced attractive set of stoneware. The bands of green, blue and beige are pretty and will play nicely with some other dishes I'm not leaving behind. Thanks, Overstock & Pfaltzgraff; everything came safely packed and on time.
Love my black dinnerware. it looks so pretty in my kitchen and the size of plates are a perfect size for large or medium amount of food. Dont dry dishes with brand new dry towels because it does leave particles behind. The pattern on the plates are like shiny scales and very smooth. I love them!
Dinnerware is slightly more blue toned than grey but it's tolerable. The high gloss Black bottom and sides show fingerprints at every touch. I ordered two sets for a weekend home and of the eight dinner plates, two had visible flaws in the edging; not chips but errors in the color finish adhering to the ceramic leaving a clay spec on the edge. Not worth the trouble and expense to return as it was for me personally and not a client.
