Received the box quickly from Overstock.com. A lot of styrofoam in there, but all the pieces were included. It took me about 20 minutes to get it all assembled. I actually followed directions, which is not always the case. I consider myself pretty handy, so sometimes i just follow directions if all else fails. After reading some of the reviews on this table, I figured I should read the directions first. Even after reading directions, there were a couple of very minor things I missed that can make a difference. First thing is that the rectangular grates that go around the middle of the legs only attach properly in one direction, though you can actually get them to fit (though not very well) going the wrong direction. Each one of them has an indented end where the next rectangular panel fits in, so they kind of interlock. That is really a key to getting the thing to line up properly - and don't tighten them completely at first. The other minor detail is getting the little headless bolts tight. These things are basically like a bolt where there head of the bolt has been cut off. One end of them has a screw slot, while the other end does not. There is mention of this on the directions page, but I missed that at first. I happened to have three out of the four going the correct direction. I was wondering how I was going to get them tight until I saw the screw slot by chance. If I had put them in the other way, I would have probably tried to do something stupid like trying to tighten them with pliers. After those two little lessons, the thing went together in a snap and it's solid as a rock. A nice addition to our patio!
I read the reviews that the finish is not great, and the reviews were correct! From the second I put these together, I could feel a rough finish (which means that there isn't much finish). But, I knew that going in and purchased anyway. The table is exactly what I was looking for in size, shape, color, and top design. So, with all of that plus a great price, I took the chance knowing that I would most likely have to paint or refinish them certainly before next season begins. (We live in New Jersey-near Philly- and so these tables have only been outside about two weeks now.)
