I was Leary at first. I love my purchase. I added a four leather white chairs and a two high back tufted white bench and it looks amazing. Not hard at all to assemble.
This table has great size and heft for our needs, especially for the price. All pieces are solid wood, with the top being constructed of many bonded pieces much like butcher block surfaces. Assembly was simple, but 1 of the necessary allen wrenches was missing so I used my own. My only complaint is that the top arrived with 2 noticeable gouges in it, a long one in the top and a smaller one on the edge (see photos). After the trouble of delivery and assembly, I won't bother trying to exchange it. The kids will probably add more gouges before too long anyway.
The table is well constructed...true to its name it is "rustic" looking. My table top has hues dark brown, black and reddish tones. The blackish tones are near the end of the table. It has a shine to it. The top of the table has slates (cannot really see that in the image) and I noticed when cleaning the table after the kids finished eating chocolate chip cookies I had to use my fingernail to push out some of the cookie crumbs that fell between the slates. It is not a light colored wood as represented in the image. I didn't purchase the matching chairs. Instead I opted for the "Aurelle Home Jenny Bonded Leather Dining chairs" (in dark gray) from Overstock. Gave my table a modern feel. I like it and so does the hubby and I would recommend this item to a friend.
I ordered this table to blend in with the dark legs of the red leather parson chairs I have from Overstock. They table is sturdy. I love the color. It was easy to put together. There were some scuff marks at two of the ends, but not noticeable enough to distract from the table itself.
